Hi, thanks. I've never heard of a F&F IVA before - how does it differ from doing one myself? I'm quite happy dealing with it myself, but just wanted to make sure I got the wording right - I used the nationaldebtline template and amended it to come from me but stating the money is from a third party ...

Firstly, I'd like to ask if it would be OK for me to ask my queries here as my husband and I are not in an IVA. We've been doing a self-managed DMP since 2008 and we were going to try and start an IVA next year, however unfortunately my granddad passed away recently and my parents have said they wou...

Thanks Melanie and yes, they are - just slightly less to Northern Rock, and then I've no idea on minimum payments for OH's Visa or overdrafts, but I'm pretty sure they are well below minimum.

Hi again, not quite on topic, but we are just doing a quarterly financial update for the creditors and we are now in a position to increase our monthly payments, however this increase is what we were going to propose for our IVA…….. so, obviously we want to be honest with them, but come next year wh...

Thank you for your reply Melanie. We are doing a self managed DMP with all of our creditors at the moment, which was started just over 5 years ago and all the creditors agreed to freezing the interest. So I think we'll just hang on until the boiler debt is paid off to my parents before starting the ...

Thank you all for the replies. After reading lots of posts we are definitely going to contact Melanie Giles, but whether we do so now or once we've paid off the boiler debt to my parents, we aren't too sure......if we could guarantee acceptance from the creditors to allow us to pay off the boiler de...

Thanks for all the replies and advice. After reading some posts on here I realised I didn't mention that we own my parents £1,200 for replacement boiler we needed in Dec and currently we're paying them back £80pm. Would they become creditors in an IVA or could we continue paying them as we are? The ...

I think perhaps we should speak to someone else with regard to an IVA, though on the one hand I'm quite nervous about the strictness of an IVA, but on the other I really would like to pay off all/as much of our debts in the shortest time possible.... we've been struggling for years now, our house is...

My partner and I are wanting to enter into an IVA and have been speaking with Step Change, however due to the fact that we owe Northern Rock just over 80% we have been told that they will not agree to an IVA. I rang NR and was told the same. Is there any way around this? NR haven't even seen our pro...
