Thanks Martin! I figured that would be the case, makes sense: anything that existed at the time of the IVA, whether you knew about it or not, should be included, even retrospectively. Sadly no windfalls coming my way anytime soon (if ever!) and no historic ones either! Just wondered if there is any ...

Hello everyone! Can you please confirm when you cease to be bound by the terms of an IVA? I competed in February, have certificate of completion etc, but I'm still on the insolvency register, and understand this is for 3 months after completion. Am I still bound by the windfall clause etc while stil...

Oh and Foggy, thanks for your comments. I see what you're saying about being accepted even if very low, but our fear is given the substantial equity, when looking at the situation on balance, aren't they more likely to reject based on the idea that bankruptcy would provide a greater return, forcing ...

Thanks every one!! I may be being stupid here, but it was my impression initially that the IP is there to help you - but I see more than they of course have law and rules to stick to and have a duty to the creditors etc. For example, if they find out about any windfall you may have had they have a d...

Surely they will all tell me the same thing won't they? I will absolutely ask some more, but I like the idea of going to an office and speaking face to face with some one. Grant Thornton charge no fee for set up, so am I naive in thinking they have nothing to gain in spinning a load of useless infor...

Hi Foggy! From other forums, we have sort of thought about the figures and think the £250 a month wouldn't be a enough. The total debt is around £90k, my mum has a house with about £50k of equity in but she cannot release it due to her age, widowed etc (have already spoken with Financial Advisor). I...

Yeah we have been in touch with an IP and have an appointment in a couple of weeks. Yes it is entirely based on her income, which we have calculated to be £250 surplus (based on advice from IP). IP said it is normal to have third party contributions (me) but I wondered how we pay. Ideally, we were h...

Yeah because of the typo I just wasn't sure of whether you had heard of problems between the two, or hadn't! Just seeking clarification, I get it now! Definitely, living life in email, social media etc - all the written word - can lead to many-an-assumption, normally incorrect because the recipient ...

Thanks guys, really helpful. I always tend to pay upfront for my insurance anyway so that should be fine then? Obviously if they ask about an IVA, I will be honest. Would be good to know for sure about Sainsburys bank, I'm sure I had a letter a few months back, but just shredded it - oops. Tina Shor...

Hi Michael Peoples. Thanks for that! When you say not a problem, you mean they normally agree proposals? Are Sainsburys still linked with Halifax? I thought they were a bank in their own right? I know Tesco was affiliated with RBS but are now an official bank. One other question, I have outstanding ...

I have another question for everyone!!!!! I have 4 separate cards with Creation finance (think they are owned by GE Money). 3 credit cards and one store card. All four together have nearly a 22% share of my total debt, will they vote as one or as four independent accounts? I'm concerned if them and ...

Clairemichelle, when you applied, didn't it say something about being in an IVA? One of my friends applied for one the other day, and she said there was a tick box about it at the very beginning of the application online. Surely if you open one right before going into an IVA, that could be seen as w...

I was thinking of moving to Nationwide as they seem to be the only high street bank not affiliated with anyone else! I will leave my HSBC going and see what happens. How simple is a transfer process with all the direct debits etc? I also have a pension paid in there. NIGHTMARE! Thanks for all the re...
