The issue of sharing costs is not in question. My point is that those costs exist regardless of the disposable income of my wife. It seems that there is a presumption that her disposable income is therefore my disposable income, if this were not the case then what she earns would be irrelevant to th...

The contributions I should be making should surely be based on what I can afford, the 'guidelines' and what the actual costs are. This cost will exist regardless of what income my wife earns. My wife should be making contributions to our baby, not the IVA and I don't see why the IP should set that f...

Hi, Yes, that makes sense and you've verbalised what I was trying to get my head around. I'm trying to make it as simple as possible for them by giving an expected monthly cost for the baby and then for childcare, splitting that in half and asking for that figure as a reduction as I will simply incr...

Hi Foggy, Thanks for the reply. Yes, I thought that would be the case, she earns about 40% less than I do anyway. My payments have and continue to be based on an individual I believe and they have never asked for 'household' costs before. My wife and I have separate bank accounts/finances and all bi...

Hi All, I am four years into a five year IVA and remarried in 2012 and now am expecting our first child in Feb 2013. I have put in a request to my supervisor that my payments be reduced from February and then September to allow for the additional cost of a) the baby and then b) childcare once my wif...

Hi, If that's the case, why are these requests only coming through so far into the agreement, when they've previously not been asked for and when expenses have actually gone down and are at or below the recommended guidelines? As for the arrears it's taken 16-months to ask for this information, so p...

I seem to have made a mistake and poked the bee hive... Not being happy at the response from my IP to a the news of my wife being pregnant and their advice on a lack of a 'clause' in the IVA agreement to cover it and any reductions as well as some other incorrect advice given, I asked them a few que...

Times like this that I really wished I had read my agreement properly. I've been told every year that a) 100% of any salary increase would have to go into the IVA and b) payments would increase at the time salary went up. As it turned out, I've managed to keep all of my marginal salary increases to ...

Hi, I'd imagine you can't enter into a HP agreement anyway. I can't borrow more than £500 with the T&Cs on my IVA and I can't think of anyone that would let me have HP anyway, lol. Are you saying that your car costs are going to increase from £70pm to £220pm? If so, it doesn't matter who's name the ...

Hi Guys, I'm 3.5 years into a 5 year IVA and I don't think I've ever been asked for bank statements or for any proof of expenditure for items such as gas etc. As a previous post said, so long as you've declared what you're earning and are making the agreed payments, no one else's business! Go party!

b*****s. This paragraph, along with a couple of others didn't exist on the draft arrangement, but was added in the Chairman's report on the passing of the agreement. This would explain a lot of my experiences with my IP. Just referring back to a previous post about a final payment before the end of ...

Hi, they were basically saying that any change to my agreement which meant the p/£ from the original agreement what not reach (or to be very close to) would not be accepted by creditors as any reduction would have to be put to a vote (which they said a large associated creditor would not have a vote...

Interesting point Nick / Foggy, is that what this statement is? "The Supervisor may draw fees, once the Nominee fee has been paid, on a monthly basis at 15%. excluding VAT, on asset realisations. These fees may only be taken when the Supervisor is in receipt of contributions/assets." It does then go...

My total debt is around £400k (included a family debt), with an IVA plan over five years working to 35p in the £. My IP has told be that any proposal to reduce this down (due to change in circumstance) would unlikely be accepted. I've a wife, ex-wife, two children and hefty maintenance every month. ...
