Hi - i finished my IVA about 2.5 years ago after paying 100p but it won't drop off my credit file for another year. I had been leasing a car at eye watering rates because of this but over the last couple of years, i have been trying my best to rebuild my credit etc. I used the eligibility calculator...

My IVA was with kingsgate and it was written in to my documentation that there would be a 3 month administration period to close the IVA. I had paid 100p, had no PPi etc. When they told me it could take up to 6 months, i brought up the fact that i had written into my proposal 3 months and that if ne...

Hi - i applied successfully for a vanquis card after making my final payment so everything was still showing on my credit file and my IVA was still active. I had no problems getting one with a £300 limit. i have had the card now for 18 months, always paid the balance in full every month and they hav...

A good way to avoid any searches coming up on your credit file is to use an eligibility checker - when you log into noddle for example, there is a cards matcher section - this allows you to put in some personal details and it will give you the options that you are most likely to be accepted for.

I wouldn't see it as rocking the boat. I would definately challenge them - you took an IVa with a different company and were sold on as a client. they have by the looks of it changed the agreement that you originally signed without your consent. If you truly believe that they did a better job than y...

That is interesting - my IVA has completed and Natwest froze 2 of my accounts (one was an ISA with around £200 and one a current account with around £800) neither of those accounts had a negative balance but the credit card i held with them did but they froze both accounts. I have been getting state...

Hi Longslog, you may not need to wait for a card like vanquis. I applied for one as soon as i had my completion certificate and was accepted - my credit file will not be in good shape until Jan 2018! What i did do however was use the tool available on noddle which shows which cards you are most like...

i got an aqua card 6 months ago, my IVA is complete but will remain on my file until Jan 2018. The nice thing about aqua is that although the APR is high, it reduces by 5% each year (for 5 years) so after that time will be about the same as a mainstream card and has no foreign transaction fees which...
