Well, our IVA is over....a huge weight has been lifted and I can genuinely say that it has been a generally positive experience... best bits: knowing we have paid back what we could afford, learning to better manage our income, no debts... worst bits: struggling when major bills came in, going witho...

I have to say the whole process has been life-changing (the IVA I mean) with real positives-but also some negatives. We have no regrets-but the fact you don't ever truly wipe the slate clean is a harsh punishment.

Does the default status on my Credit Report (Experian)stated by five of my creditors automatically come off at the six year anniversary of the IVA starting? One creditor has the date of the first default two months after IVA started-do I need to ask them to amend this? We are trying to clean up the ...

We are about to complete our IVA (started August 2007)[:D] We have just spoken to a mortgage broker who says lenders wont touch us for 6 years post IVA, not interested in what we earn, ability to pay, any deposit we may have etc... we are devastated- has anyone else had any success with a post-IVA a...

Well-I can't believe I am saying this-but we are half way through [:D](36 months paid-36 to go-assuming we will pay an additional 12 months in lieu of limited equity in our property) We are just about managing-although there have been a few challenges along the way-(For example,I have just spent £27...

Has anyone experienced having to replace a central heating boiler during their IVA? Ours is at least 20 years old and despite having it serviced regularly is becoming increasingly unreliable leaving us with either no hot water or heating-or worse, mid way through a hot shower the pilot light goes ou...

No idea what your IP will say, but common sense has to prevail surely?

Seven children under 10 is going to be challenging enough without financial worries hanging over your head!

August 2010(this year) sees the end of out third year in the IVA. My understanding is that the property valuation for equity release in year four can happen straight away (so possibly September for us) Similar properties to ours are selling for £185,000 (which is what we paid for it 3 years ago) Our...

I do worry about all the other costs-as our school costs allowance doesn't cover what we actually pay out (due to our children being tall, and rapidly growing, their shoes usually only last a term, so we are spending a fortune on them) Similarly, our middle daughter is on the football team, and she ...

I know Melanie-nearly half way through, it is certainly flying, and the best thing we did to sort out the mess we were in (both financially and from a "mind set" point of view) Re uniform: I think a couple of things have to have be from their own supplier (blazer(£70) jumper(£42), most of the PE kit...
