Hi there From you previous post and extremely good advice from other posters, I was under the impression that you had approached Melanie Giles, who is,in my opinion, the best person to advise you on your financial difficulties. What has made you change your mind and seek alternative advice? I may be...

Hi gulli Thats quite a question and difficult to answer being that you are not giving any further information!!!! Can you post your present circumstances, who your creditors are, how much you owe etc and I am sure that posters on this forum will be able to advise you. Have you applied for an IVA? If...

Hi Andy Thanks for that. As far as I know, she has not been means tested - she is in the process of getting incapacity benefit and income support as well as housing benefit. To date she has received only one housing benefit payment and has been unemployed since September 2007. No other payments have...

This is the second christmas I have had without having credit cards and loans to fund presents. I did not spend much money on gifts (didn't have many to buy in any case) and the little I did spend on gifts were carefully thought about, and each person I bought for had three gifts each!!! And it cost...

As long as you continue to make your payments and keep the company who is dealing with your DMP in the picture, I can see no reason why you cannot keep the DMP running. I am sure an expert will advise you further and correct me if I am wrong. Sue Ho Hum! Think I'll bang my drum! Read My Blog http://...

Hi everyone and a very merry christmas to you all - hope 2008 is a brilliant one for all. I have a quick question - hopefully someone can help me out. My ex-partners daughter is unemployed and on benefits (off on long terms sick), was in an IVA which naturally failed due to her illness. She has £17k...

As far as I know and from reading other threads on this forum, your daughters disability allowance will not form part of your IVA - ie it will not be taken into consideration when calculating your IVA payments. However, you do need to inform your IP of all income and they will advise you. Sue Ho Hum...

Hi eddie I guess there are some of us who just cannot sleep!!! As far as I know, I am sure someone will come along and correct me if I am wrong, to fund an IVA, you will need to have to pay in a minimum of £250 per month. On debts of £19k, this will in effect have you paying £15k over 60 months. Dep...
