Thank you both for the responses. We'd certainly advise people to deal with their own PPI claims if they are able (plenty of letter templates etc on the Web). At least that way the full amount recovered goes towards paying off the debt, rather than just approx 60% of monies recovered. The letters se...

Before you decide to sell the house, make sure you can afford future rental sums as monthly rentals are very high now and seem to be ever-increasing. Also, be aware that there may be other obstacles when you try to rent - eg being asked for a financial guarantor when you try to rent if you have sett...

We too have received a letter this morning asking us to re-do the whole "EIC" PPI process with another company. We see that the new company will be taking over 40% from the PPI proceeds as fees too! Have checked with EIC and their understanding is that they're still dealing with the PPI claims, apar...

We are coming to the end of year 4 of our IVA and in about 6 months time will need to look at whether we can remortgage to release equity ("joint" IVA and joint house ownership and mortgage). In the meantime, our fixed rate on our mortgage has just expired and we have been offered another fix which ...

CPP (Card Protection Plan). My partner and I are in a joint IVA and have received payout cheques (after assumed tax) from CPP. On the back of the letter it says the cheques should be forwarded on to IVA company if in an IVA but surely the cheques would need to be paid into our bank account and then ...

We are in a joint IVA (in 3rd year). A relative has said they will pay for our urgently-needed car repairs (we only have 1 car) but the relative has, by mistake, paid cash from their bank account (in their home branch) to my partner's pre-IVA bank account (same bank but different branch). The relati...
