Yep, my wife and I received a letter from First Plus yesterday advising that they are raising the interest (again) on our secured loan. Apparently, this reflects, "the increased underlying costs associated with borrowing and prevailing market conditions". They really shouldn't be able to get away wi...

That's terrible, must have been really scary for all of you, so early in the morning as well, [:(] ..it makes us feel like throwing in the towel and declaring ourselves BR.That's what I told the Santander manager. All they are doing it pushing us towards BR and they would in all probability, get le...

Hi all, Regular viewers of this forum probably know my wife and I are going through an IVA and hopefully the date of the creditors meeting will be set soon. This morning a 'heavy' in scruffy clothes and a white van came knocking...at 6.30am! He nearly put the door through knocking, woke up the kids ...

Hi Melanie, Sorry for contacting you via the message boards but my wife and I are really worried. We still haven't got a date for the creditors meeting and we were told our IVA application had gone to the proposal team on 18th June and that we would be contacted within two weeks to discuss the figur...

since my last post. My wife and I are hoping to go down the IVA route and it has surprised me how long it can take to pull all the paperwork together. It is frustrating trying to get balance statements from creditors. For my wife and I it would seem that two balance statements are holding the entire...

You would have difficulte in trying to stop a bankruptcy petition being presented against you, however an Interim Order is lodged on you own application. The agreement seeks to stop you entering into any form of arrangement with your creditors, or petitioning for your own bankruptcy. To do so would...

Hi all, It seems ages since I last posted! I was just reading the Terms & Conditions of my fixed-sum loan agreement for my car. It says this: "2. Bankruptcy 2.1 You will not permit a petition for a bankruptcy order to be presented against you, or permit an application for an interim order to be made...

Firstplus and other lenders use the finance house base rate not the BOE rate (although the FHBR is ultimately based on the BOE rate). If the FHBR goes down as it just has then the likelihood is that the secured loan rate will also decrease! I didn't realise that. I will certainly keep everyone info...

Received a letter today telling me that the interest on our F+ secured loan has gone down to 11.2% reducing the monthly payment by £63.97. I didn't see that coming! Anyone else received anything similar or is the financial ombudsman looking into my complaint; primarily mis-selling of the PPI but I c...
