UPDATE: Quite unbelieveable this.

I went for a car with Peugeot BSA finance, mainstream lending....even with an IVA showing on experian, guess what. I've been accepted.

Can't even explain this one.

Can't see a problem with that...Any debt on that card is on the original holder's name (and credit file).

Take it easy Wicksy. I had debts of a similar level and getting threatening calls at work - it is really stressful and a taxing time, but I wish i'd used this site at the time. As others have said, keep your mobile contract, sky etc - (i didn't and it costs you later) and just admitting you've made ...

Don't worry about the minute of recall. Person on the phone went to a senior team member and confirmed to me it was a mistake, and removed it from my file in 24 hours.

Like i've been saying, the deafults (most people have trouble with) all got removed easily for me - on both equifax and experian...but removing the CCJ itself is proving MUCH harder. Equifax, give them credit, have now removed my IVA and my score has gone straight to excellent (they did that for fre...

An Update: I've phoned the insolvency service, and they did say they don't remove them, and tend to not respond to letters from the Reference Agencies. Phoned Experian following this, telling them what the IS had told me. They said this wasn't the case ,and were waiting for a reply so they could get...

28 days from when? When i sent them the certificate - or from the end of the IVA?

I agree with what you've said - it should drop off after 6 years, (20th may 2011) but it just hasn't. I just don't think they know what they're doing.

Actually, Equifax are the only ones to have marked it as satisfied - the only CRA for me to do so. They marked it as satisfied (still with a notice of correction) on 15th july. (IVA was completed on 25th may.) Experian are just trying to deny all responsibility for doing it and blaming the insolvenc...

Thanks for that....That's what I thought myself. I've been rather annoyed at Experian's handling of this, and complained many times to them over them dragging their heels over the issue. To be fair, Equifax put a note on their system saying they couldn't confirm if the IVA was completed or failed - ...

Hi again, IVA's been finished for a while now, 2 months or so, and i've been clearing up my credit reports. My IVA is already over 6 years old, so there's no issues there...except one. All my defaults are gone, score is reasonably high, BUT....My IVA is still on both equifax & experian's records, an...

Yeah i don't understand it really. I keep thinking because there's funds still to be claimed (allbit a small fraction) the insolvency service keep it listing my case as "ongoing" rather than being finished. After 28 days, so my closure report states, it gets distributed to all the other creditors an...

Follow up to this, Certificate of completion came through the post today, yeehaw! Finishing was great, but this is better :P despite £780 being unclaimed (own dad is a creditor, so could have been him) it's all done and dusted. Just sorting out Natwest with an odd default that is over 6 years of the...

Hi Folks, Posted before, but this time, despite numerous failed efforts to think I was there came to nothing...THIS TIME I HAVE FINISHED! Been in the IVA since May 2005, with Freeman Jones, but perhaps in hindsight I was in such a hurry to keep my creditors quiet I ran into an IVA too fast, somethin...

There may be one problem I have though, two defaults from Natwest, after my IVA started (may 05) and these defaults were put on in Nov 05 (although both are marked as settled.) does this pose a big problem?

Hi Folks, After my last thread with my IVA issues, it appears complete. (Which im enjoying!) But i have issues. Im looking into buying a new car (70% cash, 30% finance) and have moved suddenly into fair in equifax's credit scoring system. (already have had a credit card for 3 years in the IVA regula...
