Surely there must always be a "final" Annual Review at the end of Year 5 - or else how can the I.P. be satisfied that any Overtime, Bonuses, Windfalls etc. have correctly been paid over during months 49 - 60?? I don't see that this is any big deal - we will all still receive the same documents (Pay ...

Speaking for myself - and looking at the wider picture - my concern here is that any examples of cases where people are bragging - or just talking about - failing to pay sums of money into their IVAs may well ultimately downgrade the view of IVAs taken by creditors. This could impact on the acceptan...

Hi Kallis - I can only speak for people in the London area - but would be stunned if anyone could argue that paying the Congestion Charge would be acceptable in an I + E proposal!!! I know that many people love their cars - I used to love a few luxuries in my life - but gladly gave these up to contr...

Each to their own - but if public transport is a viable and cheaper option to people in an IVA - is there any reason why they should be allowed to splash out more cash on an unnecessary car when this could go to their creditors? Is personal space and possible smelly people an excuse!!???!!! I like t...

I must admit that I find cindy's post a little unusual. Cindy - it is clear from your posts that you are an intelligent person - I am at a loss when you say that you "did not realise that I should tell them about everything....". Surely anyone embarking on an IVA must realise that the whole ethos of...

Louise - Glad to hear that your car is "eco-friendly". Which part of the UK do you live in? I travel a total of nearly 500 miles per week inclusive to and from work (10 journies) but manage this jolly well on public transport with absolutely zero problems. I live in Essex and commute to west London....

Neil - If you look at the Spring 2009 edition of "Freedom" - which I assume is sent to all DFD customers - you will see from the "Different Stages of Your IVA" section in the middle pages that number 17 (Month 60) makes it clear that there will be an annual review at that time. Am sure that you read...

Look into the "Oyster" - if you are an occasional traveller to London it can save you 50% or so on the "cash" fares on the tube and buses when you arrive.

I always feel lucky when I read "car" posts - living in the Essex / London area there is no need for your own transport with the excellent 24 hour / 7 day night bus service that we have here. And the "Oyster" card is a bargain. Thank you Boris!!! And I guess Mr. Livingston too!!!

I live in Essex and Stansted Airport is convenient for me. My last "holiday" (I must admit it was in my IVA) was a day trip to Scotland care of Ryanair. I got one of their amazing offers - just a few pounds return - and flew to Glasgow Prestwick in the morning and back in the evening - for next to n...

I have adjusted to the "IVA budget" very well.. There is no doubt that the early days are one heck of a struggle but - once you adapt - it really is not so bad. Clothes, food, toiletries - all can be cut back more than you might think - and the cheap brands are often just as good as those big name i...

I would also like to add my 100% praise for Debt-Free Direct. I have completed nearly 4 years of my IVA (48th payment due in February 2011) and have had absolutely zero problems thus far. In the early days of my IVA Debt-Free Direct used to come in for a fair amount of "stick" on the forum. I think ...

Is Paul.01 for real??? Can anyone really be daft enough to even consider that - if you receive a sum of money - that this should not go into your IVA?? I am in an IVA - I regularly report ALL additional monies that are received and pay 50% of these over.Paul - how can your friend even think otherwis...

Hi lem - Regarding your query of "how do I do this for 5 years?" - I can recall similar feelings 100%. Once you adapt to the new lifestyle it is not so bad - I feel as if my life is simply on hold pending 2012 (I have completed 45 months of 60 thus far). The time DOES go and my IVA company have been...
