And - as usual - very sensible replies from Foggy and Melanie too. May I say that my original post was NOT meant to offend - I am so sorry if it did - but I used to count down in a little book the days until my last payment and when I reached that day I was so happy as I thought everything was over....

Thank you for those very sensible replies (and apologies for breaking my self-proclaimed embargo of two hours ago!!!). Having very recently received my Completion Certificate I am probably not the most level-headed person to go on about IVAs but - in my experience - I appreciated the regular reminde...

Thank You Michael - I appreciate your response. And - to avoid slipping back into the bad old days - I will stop further posting forthwith - I apologise if you were offended.

Kind Regards -

I think that it is all too clear from posts that the service provided by many IVA Providers takes a mega downturn between the time you sign up to an IVA and the time after you make your final payment and receive that elusive Certificate Of Completion. Personally - I received a fantastic service duri...

Just to stick up for DFD - I found them to be an excellent company throughout - apart from the PPI meltdown which seems to have been an industry-wide nightmare. I guess by virtue of their size they will attract a larger number of complaints in total - but I would imagine that all IVA providing compa...

clairemichelle - Completely understand where you are coming from. Reading this forum makes you realise just how many people are in a similar position. Like you say - this is a great place for letting off steam. I had days when the IVA (or end of) was all I could think of and other days when it did n...

Thanks Foggy, Lulu, Andy, and clairemichelle for your kind words. If I may say to clairemichelle - what you say is so true. I became very disheartened during the long period between final payment and completion. I could not believe that timing had dictated that I was squashed by both VAT and PPI del...

As someone who used to post on the forum a long time ago - and having spoken to Andy,- (who has kindly O.K'd it), I am just returning for one last thread. I started my IVA in early 2007 and made payments throughout with the final - 60th. payment - in early 2012. Throughout - I was a massive supporte...

Hi Foggy - I think - in my case - Barclaycard rapidly instructed Mercers - and the debt was then sold onto Max Recovery. Whatever / Whoever - I was not surprised when they chased me and I just informed them of what was going on. I did not - and COULD not - blame them for chasing. Since my IVA was ac...

I do not think that anyone should be criticising Barclaycard - or any other Creditor - when it comes to their seeking payment. For goodness sake - we borrowed whatever we owe and we still owe it!! It is perfectly understandable that they - or any other company - seek to get us to repay what we owe. ...

Skippy - Honestly I do appreciate that everyones circumstances are different. I appreciate that if you have REAL and GENUINE reasons why Public Transport is not an option then I would not argue with that. BUT I do very much get the impression that a number of posters simply "like" their cars and are...

Come Come Olympic Torch - if you "got rid" of your dog - or your telly - or Mrs. Torch - you would be left with a big hole in your life that could not realistically be fillrd by any alternative. In many cases our car drivers CAN easily get rid of their cars - and switch to public transport but - for...

Well - one does have to wonder about a few points raised. Let me repeat one thing that we should all be well aware of- the whole ethos of an IVA is to repay the maximum percentage of what we have knowingly borrowed from creditors. To that end - our IVA Supervisors provide us with a figure of what we...

Time to ask the question again I think - do you REALLY need your car??? Have you seriously considered the cheap public transport alternative?? And - yes - I already kvow what the answer will be from all the car lovers on here!!!! And I am SURE that you do not ALL live in small villages with no publi...

Congratulaions luluj - if I may say so you have written (in my humble opinion) a great many excellent posts on the forum over the years. Well done to you - and totally agree with your comments about DFD. I hope to be in the same position about one year from now. But - if there is one thing an IVA te...
