I started the IVA process in August and it wasn't completed until very late November - I stopped making payments and put it to one side as a contingency. It made no difference to the vote at all. When the calls started I told the caller that I was in the process of setting up an IVA and the majority...

I've recently entered into an IVA and my car is worth around £8,000 - it was never suggested to me that I might have to sell it, so I would say highly unlikely.

Thank you all ;o) I have got to say all credit goes to Melanie Giles and her team - as there have been some major hiccups and hurdles to jump in the last three months. Michael, I shall certainly stay around as I have already found the advice priceless and hopefully I may be able to help others.

Thank you everyone for the good wishes - it was a bit of a nail biter of a day. However I eventually got the call at just gone 4 to say that the IVA had been approved - phewee! So 3 months after discovering this forum and then picking up the phone to make that initial call I can breathe a sigh of re...

Tomorrow is D-Day! It should have been last Thursday but my proposal did not make it to three of my creditors, so my meeting was postponed for another week. Have got to say it's been the longest week of my life! My IVA proposal hasn't been the easiest to set up and there have been a few big hiccups ...

Hi Blueskies, I think I'm at the same point as you in the IVA process - strangely I'm not getting missed calls just automated voice calls straight through to my answer phone. I've had a few letters and text messages - mainly from Barclays and Santander so yesterday I sat down and write to them all.

I'm awaiting my IVA proposal but have opened up basic accounts with both Natwest and the Yorkshire bank. Natwest is simple online application, whereas the Yorkshire bank was over the telephone. Both have a debit card and internet banking. I initially tried the Co-op but once I mentioned an iva there...

Thank you Foggy and Doritos, I've been sat here on the laptop for nearly two hours looking at a blank document and have really struggled with this. When the debts have been part of my life for so long it was difficult to know how to be succinct without writing my life history.
