Well...price they are today can't say I blame you - you thought they were good value last night! Worth a punt anyway, NR will probably either get taken over tor things will calm down and the value raise..good luck with them (I wish I had a few quid myself to invest) and like the new logo :-)

Well maybe we now know the truth of why NR are so averse to IVAs and DMPs - they need the cash themselves now and can't afford to wait for it over a longer term! I was wondering if the Bank of England would advance me a rescue package, my short term solvency is also a bit wobbly but seems no worse t...

Hmm..well you've said yourself they are a tempting buy so low and City gossip seems to be that they might be taken over as they are vulnerable to a predator...anyway we'll see!

Wheninawhole - hmmmm their shares are pretty low at the moment and for my money might be worth a punt (if I had any spare)
My guess is they will be taken over by someone with more money than either of us (a bank!) so yes I take your point.

Highly unlikely James, they can raise a lot more and quicker money by rate increases and additional application fees. Already happening… I agree, but they do need to be able to find the cash to lend and in NR's case that is much harder in current market conditions. They don't take large deposits an...

I hate to dispel the yelps of yippee, but this is not particularly unusual, Barclays for example went to the Bank Of England twice in six weeks, the last time was last month. I'm not sure this is the same thing at all...what seems to have happened with Barclays is that a combination of Market Chaos...

Thanks Melanie but would my case possibly be suitable for an IVA give the level of equity? I'm certainly happy to take advice and don't have to take this mortgage or I can take it towards a full and final IVA.

Thanks KPW...I plan to take the mortgage interest only for the 3 year fix period and remortgage back to repayment then when income is higher (and my wife working more), but my income is quite high anyway and has good growth potential. I've worked the whole thing out for 3 years assuming no earnings ...

Sorry my debts are 47K so actually around 85K in total debts. We had about 70K of equity when we went into the DMP and it might have been a mistake and a remortgage would have been a better idea but we had just moved and I had just started a new job. However at least our ruined credit rating has pre...

Thanks KPW, Yes I'm aware that Payplan is "creditor funded" which is one of the reasons for my considering an IVA..in fairness to them it was me who approached them about a remortgage as we have had to reduce our DMP payments as my wife is on maternity leave. Their mortgage broker side has been very...

I'm currently in the process of re-mortgaging through PayPlan's brokers to do full and final settlements on the debts in my DMP (plus a CCJ). These are a mix of joint and sole debts between myself and my partner total about 85K. Now the process they usually do is a negotiated full and final settleme...

I personally don't agree, I think communication is very important but always write letters as this puts us on an even footing. Intimidating calls demanding money or from autodialers isn't my idea of communication. I'm not in an IVA but I am in a DMP and actually get almost no calls now. I think the ...

Just don't talk to them at all. When they call explain politely that you deal with financial matter in writing only and hang up. If they stay on the line put the phone in another room and leave them talking to themselves for 5 mins. Go back in and they will have gone. BT's Choose to Refuse service i...

I'd have thought that windows would be about the safest asset you could imagine both practically and legally! They can hardly take them easily as they are (I presume) part of your house now installed! They would basically have to break into your house to remove them which is a criminal offense and I...
