Creditors should never get more in total, but under the terms of the guarantor loan they can pursue both parties so as to be able to recoup as much as possible of what is owed. In the first instance you should contact the loan company and try to make some arrangement with them and if that does not p...

Hi Stephen, Yes, one of the advantages of an IVA compared to some other solutions is that HMRC debts such as income tax and VAT can be included in the agreement. This can make an IVA a very appropriate solution for people who run their own business and have become personally liable for unpaid income...

Topic: Can a creditor demand more money at the end of an IVA ?

Have all the terms of the IVA been met? If so then they cannot demand more money - there would have to be some justification which your IP would then have to deal with for you.

Creditors are always open to this, your IP will be able to advise you, especially in light of the fact that you are so close to completing.

As mentioned above, if you are not able to make payments for health reasons it is important to get your IP aware asap

Whetever lump sum is available it is worth speaking to your IP on this. In the end an IVA is simply a negotiation and whilst creditors are looking to recover as much as possible, they are also keen to resolve debts so a lump sum can be appealing. Even if the amount your mother was able to offer was ...

Hi Luke and welcome to the forum, The reference to 6 years is probably the fact that all credit history including an IVA would stay on your credit file for 6 years but that does not necessarily prevent you from moving house or getting a mortgage. Depending on your situation, which you would need to d...

Hi Vivienne,

This sounds like an error that your IP will be able to deal with for you. Once your IVA is completed creditors cannot then pursue you for any of the debts included in it.

Hi Rob, welcome to the forum. You need to contact your IP to get a copy of this, that is if you have received one in the past. Hi Peter, Sorry to here you are having problems with this. The answer is tricky as it depends on the terms of your IVA. It is possible that GT have taken some of their fees at the start of your IVA which is not uncommon and this delays the initial payments to your creditors. This can take up to 18 m...

Hi Kelly and welcome to the forum. This is not uncommon and your IP will be able to explain this clearly to you. Usually when you earn any extra money in an IVA you would get to keep anything up to 10% of your normal pay. Anything over that is split 50:50 with the IVA. That way you are incentivised ...
