Thank you one and all for your advice, which I have found extremely useful and better than I was receiving from my IP.
On the strength of this I have visited Melanies site for representation and guidance, and have got a telephone interview tomorrow evening.
Best Regards,
Patrick

Hello Melanie, Thanks for your reply, which is really appreciated - my word you work late! My IP works for Grant Thornton and so far I have spoken to her for about 40mins during one phone call. From what I understood, my IP said that there were standard amounts for the allowances that you mention (a...

Hello Melanie & Julia, Thanks for your feedback. Melanie, you mention contingent and miscellaneous expenditure. I'm afraid I'm a bit naive about all of this - there isn't any heading for either of these allowances on the expenditure form; have you any guidance on this please? Julia, my wife and I ha...

Thanks Lily, Yes you're right, it's surprising how it adds up without you realing it. I understand what you mean about getting the equilibrium right for the IVA, otherwise my application might fail if I'm not careful. I'll look into any possible rebates on Council tax as well. I appreciate your feed...

When you say about putting down details of the extra cost of living with a disability, and that you were surprised-was your surprise at how it affected the outcome of your IVA? Regards, Patrick Hi Patrick and welcome I have two disabled boys and I claim carere a...

Thanks Melanie, I'll check them out. Regards, Patrick I would suggest the Inland Revenue's website as a starting point - but the CAB also give very good advice with regard to claims. Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner for over 20 years. For further details contact me at http://www.melan...

Thanks for such speedy reply Melanie, I wasn't actually aware that I could claim any allowances as I am also working. Do you have any ideas where I might find this information? Regards, Patrick Are you not able to claim any allowances for acting as your wife's carer? Your IP will need to carefully e...

Can anyone suggest which IP's are best?
I initially contacted Myvesta who referred me to Grant Thornton because of Myvesta's own work load.
Has anyone had any experience of these two companies?
Thank you.

Thanks Melanie And Skippy, My wife gets DLA of £432 and we're entering into a joint IVA. I am in full time employment and I am also her carer, which I of course do not take any money for. She uses taxis to get out at a cost of £40-£50 a week; without this she would not be able to get out at all - so...
