Today we received our completion certificate! Hooray!! It took 11 months, a moan on this forum (seen by a DFD expert) and a high number of emails afterwards for it to happen. My questions are: 1. How long will it take for the IVA to be removed from our credit file? 2. After the IVA and the fact that...

Why is it that now DFD have our money they are not interested in us? We paid our last installment in January and they've pestered us since with email and letters requiring us to sign forms but we have no idea why we need to sign them. If we were foolish enough to do it without this knowledge, there ...

Hi, We have our last IVA payment this week (yay!) and then will be waiting for completion papers etc. Our question is to Shaun or Ryan as we have a mortgage with NRAM and would very much like to remortgage as we are paying way over the odds each month. Would this be possible after IVA completion? Wh...

Topic: Hello, is there anything we can do to ensure a smooth closure and gain our CC ?

Hello,
Our IVA is due to end soon, with the last payment being in January 2016. We contacted DFD earlier this year with regard to the procedure we had to follow in checking if there is any equity in our home (as per our agreement). We knew there wouldn't be any but weren't sure what we needed to do - they said they had already checked and there wasn’t and that we didn't need to do anything.

Now it’s closer to that magical date, we are wondering whether there is anything we need to do to ensure a smooth closure and gain our certificate of completion. We’ve read so many horror stories relating to the end of IVAs with DFD and want to do everything we can to avoid the same. We are also concerned about any future backlashes or claims regardless of completion “on paperâ€￾. Particularly as we would like to change our mortgage (we are currently with NRAM) and don’t expect that to be very easy. Any advice on that would be gratefully received too.

We had a 3 month extension to our agreement due to loss of employment and are now paying that. We didn’t sign any new agreements whereby they were insisting loans were taken out at the end of the IVA. We have filled out goodness knows how many forms from Equity in Finance about PPI claims and they’ve made a nice sum of extra cash on that too. We have always followed all instructions and have never missed a payment. We are hoping that all of this goes in our favour.

Could anyone please advise on what we should do to keep things moving smoothly and where we stand regarding any future requests for PPI, windfalls (unlikely!), etc.

Many thanks

Angie

Hi Foggy, Thanks for your reply. In particular, it is useful to know to get a surveyor to do the valuation rather than an agent. Could you suggest any? We felt that it was unlikely that we would be able to remortgage, however in our terms and conditions section 2.2 states: font size="1" face="Verdan...

Hi All, My partner and I have been in an IVA since Dec 2009; we have now entered our final year and need to begin the process of getting our home valued etc with a view to remortgaging if possible and we have a few questions as this entire process is alien to us. We believe there will be equity avai...
