My IP stated in his letter to me re my completion that they have no affiliations with any Credit Reference agency. My credit reference file and its maintenance is my responsibility. I obviously realise that this is the case, but that doesn't tell me whether or not they will contact the main agencies...

Now I have been issued my completion certificate do the credit reference agencies get notified by the Insolvency Service register, or do the agencies do a sweep of the register, or do I have to let each C.R.A know myself?

It's amazing what complaining does. I'm happy to say that this morning I received my completion certificate. It's a shame it took a number of emails and phone calls to get it done, but, at least it's all now resolved.

GT are a waste of time as far as communication is concerned. After being told by someone in their Customer Service section a couple of weeks ago that I'd get a phone call back after I complained about the delay in receiving my Completion Certificate (just over 12 months from my final payment) I'm st...

Well done. Three months from final payment to Completion Certificate receipt seems very good.

In view of what I read here I'll go through the Gateway to make my complaint: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/insolvency-practitioners-guidance-for-those-who-want-to-complain/insolvency-practitioners-guidance-on-how-to-complain-about-an-insolvency-practitioner#what-complaints-cannot-be-co...

@Katy, I guess the companies handling IVAs aren't in any particular hurry to close IVAs off. They've had their money, and it isn't their lives being negatively impacted by any delays. Totally wrong that's for sure, and what really annoys me is their lack of communication to let clients know what's g...

Wouldn't it be better to contact the IP's authorising body first, then if the matter isn't resolved, go to the Regulator?

I still have no response from them (apart from the usual automated responses) so it looks like they have no interest in resolving my issues. Whether I want to waste time, probably yet more months, progressing through the various channels of complaint, I don't know. I might miss out the first two and...

I don't see anywhere on the GT where complaints can be made. It might mean I have to use the government website to complain through them.

And even once the Completion Certificate is issued am I right in thinking it takes a further 3 months to get the details removed from the insolvency register?

I started my IVA in December 2007. Partway through the IVA I applied to have the payments reduced. This was accepted, but my IVA ran for an additional 12 months to help make up the difference. So, I paid my final payment in January 2014, and was notified by my IP at Grant Thornton this was the case....
