As has already been said, you have already taken the most difficult step in admitting you have money problems and seeking professional help. Once you have had your consultant meeting I'm sure you will feel more at ease with the circumstances. The overdraft will form part of the IVA. My overdraft was...

My wifes IVA was point blank rejected by Lloyds, which meant there was no way for it to be accepted through other votes. What I find rather odd is they are phoning almost every other day to ask her to set up a DMP. We tell them the same every time. You had your chance to get a more beneficial return...

I find it quite disgusting that Gregory pennington advised that you would find it difficult to open a high street account whilst in an IVA. The insolvency website itself lists most of the banks that will. This where regulation needs to be tightened. Many of these case workers wouldn't know an IVA if...

A long time ago Gregory pennington handled a dmp for me, it lasted roughly about 6 months. There were many paperwork errors, including the figures they should have copied from statements given to them. They were quite abrupt on the phone and made me feel like a criminal and not someone who needed he...

I had my IVA agreed on 1 vote. You are correct in that it is 75% majority by debt of those creditors who actually vote. For example. If only one creditor votes and votes in favour of the IVA that would be a 100% majority as they are the only creditor voting. Hope this has cleared things up a little ...

Try not to worry about any payments demands and default notifications. As Oliver said, you are covered by the IVA. To put your mind at ease, my IVA was agreed on the 21st Dec. Despite this, all of my creditors, with the exception of Natwest(the only one to vote) are still sending letters demanding f...

Good idea about the dog.....made me laugh. My parents have an irish wolfhound, towers well above most people, should do the trick I think:). Thanks for the replies. I will keep posting updates as soon as we know more. As is always the case, our situation may well be able to help someone else in a si...

I wouldn't mind finding out how that happened too, sound peculiar. Update time. My IVA is now up and running, was agreed on the 21st Dec. First payment has been made and everything seems to be going well. I am still getting letters and calls from my creditors demanding payment though. Every time I h...

As will more than likely be the same for many, I will not be able to attend anything that far away. The cost would be too high to justify.

Unless of course I win the lottery.

If there is ever likely to be one down near me then see you there[;)].

Kind Regards.

This is really something you would need to discuss with your IP. It may be the case that you will be permitted to have a few months payment break or similar and have that time added on to the end of the IVA. As I said though, speak to your IP abouit it as they will know the ins & outs of your person...

An update. My wifes creditors meeting has been adjourned until the 3rd Jan. Hopefully we may have an answer by then, fingers crossed. I have been sent more demanding letters and had nasty calls since my IVA was approved than before....lol. However, I do take great pleasure in informing them that the...

As far as I am aware the credit that will be available to you IF you can get it will be limited to £500 for essentials only. Things like a new fridge, freezer, cooker etc. I'm almost positive the creditors would insist that you get a cheaper car to reduce the impact on the IVA payments. You may well...

Storm is correct. The creditor is entitled to pursue your daughter for the balance of the loan. Employment status will unfortunately not stop them in their chosen action. If your daughter is unemployed and has little or no assets it may be worth discussing Bankruptcy with a debt professional. This w...
