We had our official mortgage offer today following a satisfactory valuation :) Even with the endless pestering of questions, nothing has been too much and responses are pretty much immediate. I have a couple of friends using brokers (none of whom have had adverse credit history) and they both have h...

<t>I just want to write a post to give hope to others in an IVA who want to get a mortgage once it's complete and worried it seems like it'll never happen! My IVA dropped off my credit file on Sunday 4th Feb 2017 and by the Wednesday (yes, only 3 days later!!) I had a mortgage in principle with a hi...

Thanks Merlin, and congratulations on your completion too!! There's light at the end of the tunnel :) I also spoke with Nationwide (who I bank with) and asked them what they ask on a mortgage application form and they ask have you entered into an IVA in the last 6 years which I could legitimately sa...

Thanks everyone! And some good advice there Midland Blue, I'll bear it in mind if I don't see it dropping off the insolvency register soon.

So I've done it, I'm free!! I received my completion certificate today and it feels amazing. I entered into an IVA on 04/02/11, last payment on 1st Feb and IVA closed on 8th April. It was with Aperture, formally Grant Thornton; I had prepared myself for at least a 6 month wait so I'm more than happy...

Thanks both. Can I pose another question please? If my partner was to offer to pay the £1400 on my behalf as full and final payment and this was accepted, how long would it then be until I got my completion certificate? He's not included in the IVA as I was already 2 years in before we met. The reas...

I have 7 payments left of my IVA - nearly there yay! I pay £200 a month. I've just been advised I may be getting a £10,000 bonus (around £8000 after tax). I know if this happened I would need to declare this and 50% would be taken. However, this would be £4000 and I only have £1400 left to pay ...

I'm still in my IVA at the moment but looking around at how easy (or difficult!) it will be for me to get a mortgage. On Nationwide's mortgage application form, it asks "have you entered into a voluntary arrangement with a creditor in the last 6 years." Does this mean the date the IVA started or any...
