Actually. Just checked again and one of the two has disappeared since I originally posted.

Thew default date on the other is 29 July 2015 so it looks like it's probably on track.

Thanks guys. I'll hang fire. I'm not that bothered but I keep getting emails from Credit Karma prompting me to check my credit file. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't even know about it.

Hi all I paid off my IVA in around July 2020. Got my completion certificate shortly after and my credit report is showing that the IVA was satisfied in February 2021 (6 months after completion?) But on my report there are still 2 debts which are showing as "default" with a big "D" against all months...

After the shenanigans with HMRC - they still haven't come back to me. I spoke to Financial Wellness Group. The figure that HMRC gave them was lower than HMRC were telling me on the phone but agreed didn't seem right. FWG were saying that the debt was £3060 but I'd have to pay possibly £4000 to cover...

Just spoken to Freeman Jones/FWG/whatever I have a better understanding of the process now but I'm no further forward. The lady I spoke to was very helpful and seemed much more knowledgable than others I've spoken to. So, apart from HMRC being contacted yearly, they would/should also have been conta...

I'm supposed to be getting a call from FWG tomorrow about closing my IVA. I have posted about this and had a couple of good answers but I want to check something before I speak to them so a quick recap: IVA started in September 2015 August (ish) 2020, my ex bought me out of the marital home I asked ...

If the debt was pre your IVA starting then you should be protected by the IVA Wait... So if the debt accrued before the IVA started and they didn't register it at the start then they can't collect? But if the debt accrued within the 5 years then it can be added to the pile? I just want to understan...

Cheers, Foggy. Just to clarify... am I complaining that the IVA co haven't picked this up, or am I complaining that HMRC logged this so late? Or both? All that seems to have happened at the moment is that I started to get regular texts from the IVA company saying they'd tried to contact me and I nee...

The 5 year anniversary of my IVA passed in September 2020. As of August 2020, I was due to hit 100% so my payments stopped. BUT... HMRC logged a debt at the very last minute. Too late, it seems, to just be added to the bill. They logged a debt of about £4000. I called them at the time and they agree...

Thank you for that. I'll see if I can find something local to where I live that helps people in financial difficulties. Or I'll spend the vouchers and donate the equivalent cash to something.

I can relate to the bit about everyone you know doing searches and finding out our guilty secrets! I still feel the same to some extent. The bit about not owing THEM money is absolutely on point.

Ha ha! Thanks, Foggy! I saw the link and went there thinking it would be a meaty article about HMRC claims :)

I'm really honoured by that.

Cheers

I am honoured that my rant about the finer points of an IVA have been recognised. Thank you :D Can I assign mine to Foggy? I was just talking to my other half about this before I'd seen about my "win". Foggy replies to people who are often at their wits end with worry, often within minutes of them p...

Cheers, Foggy. Sneaky! So would I have been better arranging it as a F & F, even though it would have been the full amount? Oh well. I'm guessing they can't close it down now. I guess they must have contacted the creditors, told them I'd paid up and HMRC said "Ooo... hang on a minute..." But a debt ...

Just when I thought it was all done! Back at the end of July I contacted Freeman Jones to get a figure to close my IVA. They told me £6800 and that was to bring it up to 100p in the £. I paid the figure that I was given. I've just had a call and they're now telling me that HMRC have lodged a claim f...
