Thanks for your advice. It turns out Welcome Finance have updated Experian & Call Credit, but not Equifax - which is very ironic, since I put a dispute through Equifax in the first place !!!! Skippy, you are right it will drop off at the Default date, the problem with Welcome Finance is they never d...

Hi Skippy.. We are well thank you.. nearly 5 years since we went BR, unbelievable how quickly it's gone! Going to update our blog soon, but things are good - after the knightmare we went through pre-BR, it's certainly turned to be the best decision we could have made at the time. How are you, you mu...

Hi all, long time no visit! All is well with us, we are coming up to 5 years since we went bankrupt - can't believe how quickly time has flown! I have just done a check of all our credit records and have a concern regarding an entry. Peugeot Finance officially defaulted us in June 2008, when our ban...

Hi Skippy,

Capital One also gave me problems, and would not change the default date on my credit report stating "They were right, end of". As it happens, the default was only 6 days after the bankruptcy but as you say it's the principle!

The LLoyds scheme is called "Save the Change", where each debit card transaction is rounded up to the nearest £1 and transferred to your savings account.

Thumbs up from me for Duncton too. Been with them just under a year, sign-up process was simple, and had no problems (touch wood also) since! One thing to mention: Up until recently, they did not have any arrangements with the credit reference agencies, so there was no proof on your credit reports t...

One other prepaid card which I use is the Utility Warehouse card (you have to use one of the UW services to qualify), you get 6months usage free, then it's £1/month per card, and 35p per top-up. You also get 5% cashback on a fair few retailers including Sainsburys which is then credited to your UW b...

There seems to be a new breed of Visa Debit card, which still need full authorisation (like an Electron). Just be warned, because for example on a train (I work on them) where Visa Debit is accepted, as there is no authorisation access, these cards will still decline. The Co-op Cashminder account no...

Liz, if you do get any hassle from creditors that were included in your bankruptcy, pass any letters/details to your official receiver. They will still sort this out even if you are discharged.

Hi all, it's been a while I know... It's not been 5 months since we were discharged from bankruptcy, but thought i'd update you all with a couple of success stories. Firstly, most of our creditors have updated our credit reports to show our default and outstanding debts as satisifed. We had success ...

Definately Melanie, apparently it has been available since June 2008... We are looking at a new start-up/part-time business, with very little outlay, but need somewhere to keep business and personal finances separate, so it sounds ideal. I'll keep you all informed on how successful we are with Natwe...

Cheers Skippy, on the whole they are updating quite quickly. The only ones I am waiting for are HSBC, Bank of Ireland and Welcome Finance. All the smaller companies quickly wrote back saying they'd update them. I will get my CR's at the end of May, and if it still is the same, then I shall kick some...
