I completed my IVA back in January. I have spoken to both Experian and Equifax about this issue and they have assured me that defaults will be removed 6 years from the default date and not from when the entry is updated. I also had some creditors who had defaulted an account after the agreement date...

just viewed my Experian credit report and five of my creditors have submitted default dates that are after my IVA agreement date. I have read that this is not allowed. Is that right? (IVA completed and trying to clean-up my file).
Thanks.

I'm glad that all information is deleted after the 6th year. In the meantime, however, shouldn't the creditors note that the debt has been 'Completely Satisfied' with zero balance and not 'Partially Satisfied' with the outstanding balance still being displayed? The whole point of the IVA is that the...

Hi, I completed my IVA in January of this year and I am currently waiting for a 'Certificate of Completion' to be forwarded to me. As advised, I will then forward this certificate to the 3 credit agencies and request for the IVA and listed debts to be marked as 'completely satisfied' with all balanc...

Once the 6 year period has passed, if I was to wait a few years (4 or 5) and rebuild my credit rating back to normal, would I be correct in saying that there should be no reason why I couldn't get a 'normal' High Street morgage?

Thanks Andy and Melanie for your prompt responses. Skint, I can see your point, however, if I may explain the reasonings behind my question. When the time arrives and I'm able to go abroad on holiday again, reservations for hotels in the States, for example, require a credit card to reserve the room...

When the six years has come to an end and your credit file has been wiped clean, how long does it take before you can get a credit card? No, I don't intend going down the same route again but I'm just curious. I realise that you have to build up your credit again but what length of time after the 6 ...
