I am the same as Luluj, I opened a Smile account before my IVA was setup and still have it now. They gave me a £1000 overdraft facility on it which they reduced to £500 when the IVA was setup which brought it down to the £500 allowed under the IVA. The overdraft came in handy on a couple of occasion...

Not sure what others thing but as far as I am concerned IVA companies should be banned by the regulators in doing this. To me it smacks of a big conflict of interest of an IVA Provider or an IP is also involved with a loan company or PPI reclaim company and is using the information of the IVA client...

Try not to worry about it, I finished mine just over a year ago, there is light at the end of the tunnel. If it is the same as a house, then nornmally at the end of the 5 year IVA they value the property and compare it against the mortgage/ secured loans you have on it. If this exceeds £5000 then yo...

I am a bit puzzled here, this forum has been a godsend in the time I was in an IVA with advice and just being able to read about other peoples problems and solutions. Those that have "helped" have been the main asset to the forum being here. Now I have finished my IVA and my Credit record now clear ...

Come back from a couple of days away to a message from ClearScore that my new report is available. My IVA stated that my wife had to attempt to find a job, easier said than done around here and in the 5 year of the IVA she never did manage to find one. She could not claim any benefits as my earnings were too high and she had not had much in the way of previous employment to claim based on previou...

Unfortunately Payplan is one not recommended if there are two of you in the same house but only one in an IVA. Most others just take the income of the other person into account to make sure you both are paying your fair share of the household expenses on a ratio depending on what you both earn (or a...

Don't worry Daniel, Stepchange reduced mine in the first place by adjusting and adding a couple of allowances to bring my first payments down from around £170 to £130. This was increased a couple of times in the annual review and at the end I was paying £175 for the last year. I had no equity so all...

The interest that is frozen by the IVA is that interest that would have been imposed by your creditors, usually well in excess of the 8% that is charged within the IVA if you are in a position to pay the 100% + fees, etc.

I got my car finance with Moneybarn via Midland Credit as, still being in an IVA at the time with 4 payments left, Moneybarn were to only lenders willing to lend. I don't know if that is the case once you have your CC but the IVA still on your credit file or not. Maybe worth having a word with Midla...

They could fail your IVA as a breach and make you Bankrupt thus risking any assets you have.

Don't forget thought that most IVA's will allow you to keep it if it is under £500.
