Hi, I haven't posted in a while, I'm now in a DMP. Thought I'd post some information in the hope it might be useful to others: 1. I'm in a DMP with CCCS. So far I have found them to be totally professional and supportive - I've got only good things to say about them. 2. I was making token £1 per mon...

I've had a visit from Scotcall (who mercers use) - they are fine. Just told him what I've told Mercers about 15 times and he was fine with it.
They have no powers, they're not bailiffs - and you don't have to worry about bailiffs unless you've had a ccj against you

Fine so far - but then I'm a good (and trained) negotiator. I also keep in mind that it's just a job to them, and don't get upset by any of their tactics. All negotiations are a game, really. I can see how they would be very upsetting and intimidating to people who haven't experienced this sort of t...

Barclaycard moved my debt along to the next step in the process I think now. I'm getting calls from South Africans rather than Indians. One today made me laugh. "Hello, i'm calling from Barclaycard, but I see we've already called you yesterday." Me "yes." (silence) She's clearly expecting me to say ...

I've been dealing with several creditors to negotiate token payments whilst I get my finances straight, I thought I'd give a quick rundown of how they are: Egg - not bad, passed me to their DCA Capquest, who have been fine so far. Northern Rock - no problem. accepted £1 per month straight up, review...

I've been negotiating with about 12 individual creditors (I quite enjoy it, actually - the key is to be calm, very polite, very firm, and take no nonsense from them whatsoever) over the last few months, and have been using a web service called highrise to record who I've spoken to, what they said, w...

Hi, I'm in the process of sorting out token payments with my creditors to tide me over until I find more work (2-3 months). I offered £1, but one has written back and said their minimum payment is £5 per month. I can probably manage this, but will it cause a problem giving them £5 whilst giving the ...

It will be very interesting to see what happens to the economy over the next 18 months. I suspect the collective bill for the last 5 years' craziness on commercial and consumer debt is in the post... I personally reckon the housing market will be just about coming off the bottom of the crash up agai...

Sounds familar to a client of mine and thanks Melanie for confirming the advice that I have been giving him. Melanie, he wants to talk to a company insolvency specialist are you interested please? The lesson I drew from this was "don't let your DL accounts become seriously overdrawn", regardless of...

Thanks for replies. After getting a final answer out of my accountants (which took threats of reporting them to the ICAEW before they finally stopped claiming the partner was "in a meeting" and got their act together), it has turned out that the loan liability is considerably less than I feared. Mor...

Is it to be read that you have an overdrawn Director's Loan account to the tune of £15,000? Yes - I'm trying to find ways to sort this out (legitimately, I hasten to add), but seeing as I only found out about it recently, I may be somewhat short of options. Not overly worried about tax investigatio...

I'm in the process of having a company wound up by a creditor. Due in part to the incompetence of my accountants, it's likely that the liquidator will try to reclaim about 15K off me personally as a director. I don't have this to give them (I just have a lot of other debts which I'm trying to sort o...
