Topic: Aperture - why you should make a subject access request now

Have been reading a lot of the recent posts with interest especially around PPI and the possibility of them splitting/rebranding. I take a very cynical view - the push on PPI is linked to them splitting/rebranding and they need the money to allow it to happen. If you are a current, new or old client...

Credit Unions loan money to others based on what their members save with them. They therefore have an obligation to essentially recoup what are the savings of other members. The Credit Union has the legal ability to take whatever action it believes it is appropriate to protect those members interest...

The purpose of a SAR is to allow someone to check the accuracy of the information held about them. There are then extended rights under the Data Protection Act 2018 linked to rectification or erasure. By default, a first SAR is always a bit of a "fishing exercise" as someone is really saying that 1)...

Changes last year means that they can no longer charge. Key things to remember is: - Be sure to provide proof of identity - Be concise and clear about what you are asking for (and you do not have to provide a reason about why you want the information unless you are considering legal action) - You do...

Topic: PPI - Trust Deed

There is case law from October 2018 that shows that if you had a Trust Deed and DID NOT sign a deed of assignment, you can keep PPI. It is Donneen Ltd and another v Mond (Cleardebt), case number UKSC 2018/54. It demonstrates that PPI is far from clear and should any documentation be sent to you from...

Whilst every organisation has to provide a central address for their Data Protection Officer and for where Subject Access Requests can be made to, the practical reality is you can make the request at your local branch, and they have the responsibility to act on it and make sure it gets to the right ...

Our issue was always more that we did actually use the protection offered by the PPI on a number of occasions. Therefore we could not argue it was missold. If you truly believe that you did not have PPI OR that it was never missold, then state that on the documentation if you are feeling pressured t...

Hate being negative but the new layout is dire You cannot see immediately who is posting and what about. It also gives the impression that nothing new is being posted given the age of the posts that you do actually see immediately. You also need to be careful about the really old posts (the ones ide...

Foggy is correct - it is your IVA company that has let you down by not correctly explaining the impact of entering an IVA and the long term impact on your credit history.

Agreed - an IVA is a contract with obligations on all sides.

If CF are seeking to change the contract and the contract does not specifically include how assessments are done in this way, then they have to change the contract.

Some of their practices are not standard.

I would recommend looking at smaller companies where you can also gauge how likely it is you will get on with them.

The larger comapnies tend to spend a lot of effort on onboarding but then you end up with indifferent service.

Unless you are looking at director level roles (which in the NHS can start at 8b) it should not be a issue. Your pension scheme contributions are pretty much defined by your contract. Try and claim any possible PPI before going into an IVA as you might find that what you get back stops you having to...
