Melanie, One last question if I might - how much per month would you consider reasonable in respect of childs' uni contribution? I am going to call my IP and arrange a meeting with our case worker or Supervisor and try and reason this out. I will try and press on with the IVA. Regards One time irres...

Do you live in Northern Ireland and is your IP also based over there? I just ask, because I am aware that the security issue in Belfast is still a little tense (I also have an office in NI) and you may wish to explain your reasoning to the IP for the rather higher accomodation costs. Regards, Melan...

Hi Melanie, Her accomodation (Belfast) is uni owned and includes stuff like utilities, security, internet access etc. It is fairly basic but new and I appreciate seems costly, but that is the amount on the invoice. But I accept your point on this. However, I am heartened that you as a professional s...

There is always a deal to be done at the end of the day, no-one will want to go to Court, but you must ensure that you are left with sufficient money to live a reasonable life and therefore have the incentive to carry on making the payments. Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner for over ...

Melanie, This is what I was thinking. I have telephoned a solicitor who has asked me to come in and talk with a view to advising on this. Then I think I will take both your and Andys' advice and seek a meeting. These guys have been pretty good and understanding up to now - maybe got the wrong chap a...

I guess that you are with a large IVA provider and that you are not actually talking with your IP but various case workers. Please post the details and we can advise f...

Hi Andy, Many thanks for your reply. You are right in that I seem not to get on with my IP. Each time I contact them or they contact me, it is a different person. This guy opened up by saying that our income has increased and questioned me if we were working overtime etc. The bottom line is that it ...

Hi Melanie and Andy, My original question did not copy across properly. Also changed my username (forgotton password). We are currently 30 months into a 60 month IVA with a Final Equity Release of £3,000 or continued payments to that amount. In the past 12 months our circumstances have changed (incr...

Hi Caraf, With almost identical creditors to yours and debts of over £60k, my proposal offering a dividend of 25.6p/£ was accepted straight away. Tell anyone who calls you that you are seeking independent credit advice (I contacted CCCS who gave me a reference number which I quoted to these people, ...
