Its a tough time for you and I'm sorry as you near the end of the IVA - things aren't more positive. Clearly you have to maintain priority payments - rent/mortgage, council tax, food, travel if needed to get to work. If yo literally cannot afford to pay anything more into the IVA, you will simply ha...

The other experts are of course correct. But its a bit gut-wrenching - so near yet so far to a lump sum that would make a huge difference! But you're right - you really can hold your head up and celebrate being debt-free!

DFD have been bought by Aperture - see press release dated yesterday assuring DFD clients of best possible service. I would suggest contacting Aperture (phone number on Aperture website) for further help about the status of the IVA. http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/aperture-debt-solutions-llp...

I think I have to urge caution here. I completely understand the need to sell as soon as possible, but selling before the IVA completion certificate is received - can open up your share of any profit from the sale of the property to the IVA. At the very least, talk to your IVA company about timing -...

Yrs further clarification is necessary. But assuming Swift are still sorting out the IVA - then you need to contact them, explain the problem and find out the timescale. If you're not happy with the response - you may need to consider going elsewhere for your IVA.

I agree - and especially with your income reducing, there is a fair chance that your IVA will fail again once the drop in income hits. Again, it makes a full & final offer all the more attractive to creditors.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow - but if Very do reject on the grounds that the account was used recently - it may well be that a DMP could be relatively short term, and then re-apply for the IVA once sufficient time has lapsed since the use of the Very account.

Yes - contact your IP or IVA Company - you have a right to know. A copy of a completion certificate may be useful too.

I agree completely with Foggy - get your husband to talk to 1 or 2 other companies to get further advice. If a DMP is recommended then it's important that your husband understands why it, rather than an IVA is being suggested. Similarly if another company comes up with an IVA as a suggested route - ...

I haven't been posting on the Forum long enough to have been of any help - but it doesn't stop me congratulating you on a successful IVA application. Life's too short to wish time away - but I hope the next 59 months are stress-free and you enjoy the thought that a debt-free future gets nearer each ...

You have done well to contact your creditors to explain your situation. And token payments where necessary are better than no payments. I would be inclined to ask Payplan for an estimated timeline from this moment on - and what you should say if you are contacted by creditors. It is likely be severa...

Foggy is of course correct. But people entering an IVA can be concerned that somehow they are legally bound to continue making payments even if their circumstances change significantly. Eg someone in an IVA is made redundant (no one can predict what 5 years will bring!). Very often under such circum...

No debt solution is pain-free I'm afraid (with the possible exception of having a generous, millionaire relative!). You mention that you know this is the only way to sort out the debts - but your nervousness is perfectly understandable. Its a big step to take. And it is good that you are aware of th...
