Hi, not been on here a while since completing my IVA a year ago. I'm still having issues cleaning up my report. When I went into the iva in 2012, I had a loan secured on my house with firstplus (taken over by Elderbridge finance). Worst thing I ever did but that's another story. Obviously that loan ...

The short answer is yes you can. But it may mean another creditors meeting and them agreeing to allow the debt to be added. This is classed as a variation. I was allowed this as I had a secured debt that became unsecured, but was known about from the outset. You will have to explain where this new d...

Hi I had a first plus loan secured on the house. During the iva due to my circumstances I had to have the house voluntary repossessed because first plus would not allow me to sell the house as there would be a £17k shortfall. So I had it repossessed. This then meant there was no house to secure the ...

Thanks for the link Foggy!
Especially on who to address the letter to.
The certificate was dated 20th April this year.
I thought things would have started to filter through by now but seems like I’m yet again doing the run around!

Hi, Just as I thought the journey was over with, feels like the beginning. Trying to clear up my credit file is not as straight forward as I thought. Iva is now completed and 6 years were up on the 30th April this year but it’s still not dropped off so have rang IP to sort it plus sent in docs to th...

They’ve really not been very helpful by allowing it to get this far before sending it and then giving a misleading explanation but if you want to stay within T&C’s of your IVA as a homeowner I’m afraid as already mentioned it will have to be signed. If you need to get independent advice then speak t...

I’m amazed at the lack of honesty on their part too! This is basic stuff and they should be able to give a clear reason why the form has to be signed. I’m not sure if it was just my company but this was explained to me before I even put pen to paper in setting up the IVA so I knew I had to sign it a...

Thank you everyone for replying.
I’ll have a look at the credit cards that start me back on the straight and narrow, with the smallest possible limit to just pay for petrol and then pay it off in full.

Can I just piggy back on this one? My Iva completed last month and my 6 years were also up at the same time. My IVA is still showing on credit file and IR. With credit building in mind, my bank states that I must not have been declared bankrupt, or had a CCJ or IVA WITHIN LAST 6 YEARS. So I read tha...

Hi there, You will have to check your IVA terms as some allow up to £500 credit but the whole point of being in an Iva is to sort out debts and I think the temptation to use a credit card could get out of hand. That’s my opinion. You don’t want to jeopardise the Iva this early on I’m sure. It maybe ...
