Not an expert, but I am 4.5yrs into an IVA. I had slightly more debts than you. Since mine started the rules for DRO have changed and the threshold is up to £30000, so as you seem around that mark, have you considered that? The link below is stepchange site with info, apologies to admins if I should...

I'm at a similar point. I was told not to pay mine the last couple of months of the year the IVA was agreed. Currently the balance outstanding shows £6 greater than this year's bill so I guess the payments are balancing out what I owed. Coincidentally re Council tax, I haven't had the £150 rebate ye...

I started to read it and think wow that's great, then I got to the part where they add another 2yrs on and though nahhhhhh. I have 10 payments left and I would sooner live off beans on toast for those 10 months than add another two years on. But I am also quite fortunate that my gas and electricity ...

Chances are with the timing, peak leave for Christmas and staff off with covid, HMRC wouldn't have seen the letter / email from the IVA firm in time to deal with it which may have gone in your favour from what I read about them. Welcome to the journey, I hope it goes smoothly for you and believe me ...

I would imagine if she doesn't give a payslip then they will assume she is able to pay 50% of the household costs and work out your payment based on that. Hopefully one of the experts will be along shortly though.

Just submitted my 4th review this week and now the wait begins. Each time I get an email I jump and check it, even though I know it's too soon! I don't think they even read my forms yet as usually I get a text to say they have received my documents. It only seems 5mins ago that I had the call to say...

Last night I realised that I will be making payment no 45/60 today. Sure enough it now shows on my account. Three quarters of the way done. One more annual review due soon and then the final review. The light at the end of the tunnel suddenly seems real. It doesn't seem long since I was halfway! Not...

Hi, I am with StepChange, almost at 4yrs now. Mine was agreed on 17th of the month and as they said they take all their payments on 1st and there wasn't sufficient notice of the direct debit, so I actually didn't pay within 28days. I had a pay month in between where I didn't need to pay my debts or ...

When I had my information gather with stepchange some years ago, the guy I spoke to said I should live to my new budget whilst waiting and make pro rata payments, my IVA payment was to be £275, so he told me to work out percentages of debt and pay them accordingly - I scratched my head over the sums...

I did the covid thing recently and HMRC emailed me that my tax code has been adjusted so I guess I will just get a little bit more take home each month and never see a refund as such.

Welcome to the journey! Make sure any payment direct debits are cancelled! I found it amazing at first having so much money when I had been used to about £50 a month for food shopping and nothing else before the IVA. Its amazing how quickly you get used to the budget though and I am skint by the las...

Natwest were not my biggest lender, but I did have £300 in overdrafts, £5k loan and £2k credit card debt with them. They passed the vote to another company, who voted yes on their behalf, and the debts have since been passed onto a debt recovery company Max Collection. They sent me a statement every...
