Those security clearances are quite invasive, you will probably need to disclose it and hopefully be able to explain why. Maybe check HR guidance on intranet before completing the forms to see what the policy is. Makes me laugh that civil service treat any one in an IVA as untrustworthy (I would hav...

I remember being there! Mine was £34k, paying about 39% (I think off hand as not at home with my papers) I was convinced it would fail but I am now 2yrs in! I even took the day of the meeting off work in case they phoned with modifications. There were none.

I agree, I seem to remember telling a fib when negotiating my IVA that I had a dog (I didn't) to get the payments slightly down - the nearest we had was one of the kids cyber-pets, but bending the truth to get accepted does have a risk to it. The whole point of an IVA is to help you manage better a...

I would imagine the IP may well say if it's your dad's car, he should fund the repair. I am just being realistic here. Like Foggy said, best port of call is your IP. From earlier posts I think I remember you saying they gave generous allowances (£100 for clothes, money for food which was included in...

I would think when your review comes up, the IP might question a deduction at source. I have an advance taken at source for a season pass, this was agreed by my IP as I already had this at the start of the IVA and it is the most economic way I can pay for my travel, and it is mentioned on my annual ...

Sandybrowneyes... It's back today! I emailed them my forms 2wks today, and got home to a brown envelope from Leeds. They didn't email this time. Small increase in payment compared to increase in income as I have declared a lodger with me. And no questions asked about the couple of just eat entries on...

I am part way through my second review with them, my first one took 4wks, my second one is 2wks in and still not heard back. I know it's a bit different to a final review but might be an indication of times.

It's taken me the length of Hotel Mumbai (the new film on now tv today, almost 2hrs) to get it all together and sent back, even though I was ready and had all my documents. The combo of slow old laptop and phone moving stuff using One Drive and having draft documents on Googlemail has been a bit of ...

So glad I posted this last year as the same thing has just happened, file I can't open has arrived but at least I could refer to my post here to see how the heck I managed it last time.

It's more oer mess 2yrs to the day since I first made contact with stepchange, my creditor meeting was mid Nov, first payment was January. I have been living in my budget for 2yrs from October and I don't miss the stress I had been having around meeting debt repayments. There's been a few worries ov...

It's quite sad that letting agents can be like this really, surely someone with a set budget which includes allowances each month for rent is a safer bet than someone who has debts and may struggle to pay all their bills? I have been fortunate that the last time I needed to modify the contract was b...

In the time my iva was going through the admin stages (two months) I was advised to start living in my new budget and explain to the banks I would make them token payments divvying up the amount I had left over (the amount I pay stepchange each month now) and paying it pro rata to the creditors. I w...

In the time you are waiting maybe take some steps to set up a new bank account and have your income paid there and try offering token payments to the creditors, but don't have your income go to the bank account with the overdraft. Also you could perhaps try a bank with a facility to block gambling t...
