I have not come across an instance where creditors were asked to allow you to keep it. Sometimes an IP has used discretion to allow some to be retained for pressing...

Been in Iva three years

My wife and I are in IVA and wife has been awarded a windfall of £2500 and we want to keep it but stepchange advises that we have to go to creditors to keep. Put proposal together any advice u can give me and also what outcomes have people got as can’t find anyone posting what happens next
