An update on this: :D :D :D :D
The housing association agreed to us having a shared ownership house despite declaring the completed IVA.
Just another example of how life can get back to normal after an IVA and so much better without all the stress of living in debt! :D

Hello all My IVA completed in early 2019 and we have our lives back debt free and better than ever with thanks to the great help and support from the wonderful people on this forum. We have even managed to get a nice cushion of savings in the bank and a very healthy credit score! However, our intere...

Thanks both. That was my gut feeling and as Foggy says, no way I would ever use the limit. I use it purely to rebuild my credit history.

<t>Hi all<br/> I completed my IVA earlier this year, and it’s all going great! Am thrilled my credit score is now pretty good, however, all the sites say I should try to get my credit card limit increased to further improve my rating(currently £500 Vanquis) which I’ve had for over six months. I pay ...

Thanks for your helpful reply( as always!) Foggy.
Did you have to ask them? I’ve heard nothing from the Co-op since my IVA finished. I know it’s not important in the big scheme of things, but since my credit score is now pretty good, the basic bank account is a reminder of my past I’d like to forget.

I had a Co-op cash minder basic account (very happy with it) throughout my IVA which finished earlier this year, but would like to upgrade to a “normal” account now that my credit report is all looking good. Am I best applying to another bank or asking my current bank to upgrade me?

Hi Dennis
In my experience they leave it till the last possible moment.
My name wasn’t taken off until three months after they received notification, so on the second date. So glad to be off at last!

Glad you are feeling better about things. This forum is great for reassurance when you are having any problems and for information. I only discovered it after I had started my IVA and wish I had seen it before. I should clarify I paid 50% of extra income to IVA- 59% was a typo! Everything is spelt o...

Hi Kelly Six years ago I was in exactly the same position, we were up to our ears in debt which our mortgage lender refused to consolidate. I was stressed beyond belief, not sleeping and hardly able to afford everyday living. Had I read this forum beforehand, I may well have chosen a smaller firm, b...

Yes, get that lottery ticket Jones! I was with Stepchange and they were super- quick with my certificate too. They were always very organised, asking for relevant info well in advance, and it paid off!
