I have scoured my employment contract and there is no mention of either an IVA or bankruptcy affecting my role, is that enough to assume it is ok? I have a colleague who has an IVA so that obviously isn’t an issue for our employers. but I don’t for sure about bankruptcy, I don’t really want to discu...

I have no assets so will be purely contributions based, to be honest I don’t know enough about either to really know what to do for the best, I’m worried that in bankruptcy my account will be frozen and I actually won’t end up being discharged for a lot longer than a year, I’ve been told I could hav...

It doesn’t appear to be a work or professional registration issue. With my pay bracket for the NHS I pay 9.3% which seems a lot but is the minimum, if faced with an option of no pension payments for 5 years or bankruptcy I think bankruptcy will win but I’ve spoke with Keith and am hopeful he can hel...

I met with an independent IP today, who said from the outset looking at my I&E he would not be able to represent me as he would not gain anything financially. He said looking at my debt a total of 35k he imagines my creditors would want a minimum of £300 a month, my income is an average of £2750 and...

I’ve also opened a basic account with nationwide to transfer all my DD’s too as my current bank is one of my largest debtors. Haven’t actually achieved anything yet but it’s amazing how just starting to try and take charge can make you feel more positive. Onwards and upwards

I have a meeting with stepchange next week over the phone but tomorrow a face to face with an independent IP I’m quite hopeful about this one as the conversation on the phone he seemed very personable, the meeting tomorrow is free of charge and then any fees go into the IVA (I’ve seen others on here...

Ah good to know, I looked on their website at their allowances and thought quite generous (apart from fuel, their maximum recommended amount wouldnt get me to work!) but maybe I’ll get a surprise looking at other companies. There is 3 where I live so I’m going to contact all tomorrow will let update...

I have got together some local companies details and also contact stepchange (for comparison really) will be making contact tomorrow, feels like a massive step but also a relief that I am going to start sort...

I currently pay minimum into nhs pension too (9.2%) will this affect things, really don’t want to have to come out of my ...
