I know somebody who is using Kensington for a DMP. They were full of all the right ideas to start with, which seemed so they could get the business, but once signed up and payments started they have not been very helpful at all. The monthly payments distributed don't seem to add up and some have bee...

Thanks for that - the ridiculous thing is that I have just had a week of work but because I was so exhausted from work I have just slept most of the time. Had to mow the lawn today for the first time in my life!! interesting times!

Most of you may remember that my husband is ill - well just getting worse. New tests been going on since christmas and he has not worked since christmas. We h...

I have been in IVA now for about 9 months and ahve to say I am finding it ok but that's probably because I ended up with no "real" budget pots left as I was just paying over everything to creditors. The only negative is trying to put money on one side for birthday's and christmas etc, we don't go ou...

I know there is a separate thread for Frugal Friends meeting but there has been nothing on there since 15 Feb. I remember Andy saying he was going to talk to Melanie about the next meeting - any update? I haven't managed to get to a meeting yet but would hope to get to the next one.

I've not been around for a while either but it's fine for any of us to come and go on here - it's like true friendship - you can pick up where you left off and know that people are there for you. Like other comments - two things to think about. Extend the interest only period and also would BR mean ...

I felt quite awkward about explaining to people why I couldn't always do things but now I am "open and honest". I feel I have taken a responsible step to sorting out our finances and feel quite enriched by what I have now done. I am about 9 months into my IVA and it really is the best thing I have d...

I have found that the IVA has been a god send. Like other posters have said the idea is to be responsible and pay back what you can but you are allowed various budgets and I have found that I am managing quite well ( well we were until my husband had to stop work through illness - long story and mos...

I have been in an IVA since August and once all my creditors realised I have had no problems since. Prior to the IVA, whilst sorting out what I was going todo, I had a lot of problems. My creditors are: Barclays Bank, Barclaycard (the worst), Next, MBNA, Tesco, Mint, M & S. My husband and I are both...

He should get job seekers allowance if he has no redundancy - I think what happens is if anyone gets redundancy in lieu of wages than you can't claim until that runs out. Somebody once told me that "trials are proof of Gods care" - going by that theory God must care for us a lot with the amount we h...
