Thanks for the advice - I agree they should speak to an independent advice specialist and have recommended they do that.

Thanks Lesley, it just doesn't seen right that I should still be being penalised. I kind of feel what's the point in entering into an IVA if creditors can apply CCJs 18 months after the start and then no one is there to help get this corrected. :-(

Hi Andy - it may well end up that way , I just don't see why I should be penalised in this manner, are there no regulations about creditors applying CCJ's once an IVA is approved and running?

Hi a guys after some advice please. I finished my IVA last March after starting in March 2007. I had to wait a long 6 months to get my completion certificate but it came at the end of October 13. I have since been looking at my Credit file and although I was able to get any related defaults removed ...

Helpless , just a word of warning to help manage your expectations. My last payment was in April and it was finally closed on 26th of October. GT say it takes 6 months for them to close everything down to a state where your contributions are distributed to creditors. I hope you get yours much sooner!

Have they told you it has been closed with a date? They have told me mine was closed on the 26th of October and I would get all the paperwork within 10 working days! And still nothing. They are a joke and I would suggest anyone entering an IVA with them think very carefully as the 5 or 6 years turns...

Should you be able to get a normal high street mortgage once your iva is complete and credit files etc have been tidied up or will it have to be a specialist lender?
