Hi Melanie, Hope you dont mind me asking a few questions... I have been away for a couple of weeks on business, can you please advise me if you or your scottish team have any news regarding NR decision for my wifes Trust deed? It has been around 1 month now since she was not granted protected status...

Here is my story and experinces regarding up front fee companies. It is an honest account of what happend and i have no bias / bitterness to any companies. I am just telling it as it happend. I approached TC very early in my process of applying for my Trust deed. Like most have mentioned on this thr...

Thanks for the reply Melanie. I think NR have another company (Kroll's) which vote on their behalf for all Scottish Trust deed's.

We could easily have taken the "easy way out" and gone for bankrupcy as we have no equity / major assets etc...and neither of our jobs would have been effected by BR. But we genuinely wanted to pay back as much as possible as we know we were to blame as much as the banks for the mess we got ourselve...

Hi all, Just thought i would let you know that Northern Crock objected to both my wife,s and my trust deed from becoming protected. Fortunately for me NR did not have enough clout to reach the 33% required to fail my TD application. But my wife only had 2 creditors and NR held 90% of the value so th...

Congratulations on your offer Viki. I am really chuffed for you. I noted that the offer was not as good as you had hoped for, but you will probably be in a much worse situation (both mentally and financially) should an offer not materialised. Hopefully this can be you new start and you can now look ...

Price fixing has been going on all year...see the mortgage market as an example. Non of them are passing on any of the BOE rate cuts to the consumers. There are no really competitive mortgages on the market at present, they have decided between themselves to concentrate on proffit margins rather tha...

I also approached Thomas Charles before choosing to go with Melanie's team. They asked for the equivalent of 3 months Trust deed or IVA payments for their fee. I then found out that they act as an intermediary (or middle man) who liase between the IP company and us. I am not being too critical of th...

John, Have you not considered the option of bankrupcy? i am not aware of your situation but maybe a clean start may be the answer. You are likely to be discharged within 1 year now in most cases...a dmp could take a life time to pay back and cause you considerable ongoing problems from creditors con...

Hi Plastic daft. As a fellow trust deed chap i also had the same dilemma. I had a 3k overdraft with Nationwide and like yourself i had another bank account set up but not enough time to set up the direct debits. I simply withdrew all the money and made debit card payments for my bills until the dire...

Thanks for all the supportive comments. We really appreciate the help everybody has offered on this forum over the last 2-3 months. I just hope that we are able to change NR's decision. We could very easily took the easy way out and declaired bankrupt (we have no equity in our mortgaged property...a...

Yes, we are still hopeful that we will be able to come to some sort of compromise with NR and we have every comfidence in Melanie being the right person to do this. We are offering around 25p in the £ to NR after all fees which i thought had a resonable chance of getting approved. Best of luck with ...

Hi all. Good and bad news i am afraid.....NR were the only creditor rejecting our Trust deed which unfortunately has stopped my wife from getting protected status, but was not sufficent enough to stop me from getting protected. So at the moment i will be paying £500pm for 3 years and my wife who was...
