So did I and that's why I took an IVA as well but doing the right thing by the banks means nothing to your future credit prospect anymore - I would not think twice about bankcruptcy now

I commend you on your most recent reply James. As for the register I know there is not much we can do about this but what about the fact that anyone can get all my IP's security questions by simply viewing the register online surely the IP's should at least have a password in place for added securit...

While I agree gaining credit would be pointless this situation it does not stop a company phishing for info or maybe a future employer phishing for info just look at how facebook has turned into a tool for employers to vet future employees. It is still in my eyes a clear DPA breach allowing such inf...

I am glad if I have made you think before you enter an IVA - you know the main reason I did not even consider a bankruptcy before I applied for the IVA? Well let me tell you why - it was the shame! bankruptcy has a ring about that makes you feel a loser the lowest of the low in some ways but I have ...

Yes you are quite right we all have to take some blame I agree but I remember when I took out my last loan for instance how I worried when my application through another lender was rejected at first - I then applied with a previous lender I had borrowed from who stated the would give me what I wante...

True they are different but my issue is whether an IVA is there to help the customer or really just to ensure the banks get some money back? The only reason to choose an IVA these days really is if you work in the financial or legal sector if if your company does credit checks before the employ staf...

My advice is as my old gran you to say you need to 'cut your coat according to your cloth' meaning don't spend more than you can afford. If you can not get a mortgage for a few years become the banks best friend and save every month - this will show them you have spare cash - I dont' think we will s...

So your telling me that the banks do not share this information with each other? You can hope the do not but I know they do I have friends who work in the bank. The banks do not want to advertise this as lets face it most would choose to go bankrupt then and the banks get nothing so it's not in ther...

No need to worry about the statements its the creditors way of keeping you on your toes 'it's like hello we have not forgotten about you debt you better keep those payments up' As for the 11 years on file - yes i'm afraid this is very true as much as they try to cover it up - but this is for getting...

You can but it will go back to the IVA fund anyway and since any debt unpaid after 5 years gets wrote off anyway it is a pretty pointless thing to do. You may get the amount you owed reduced but in the eyes of the banks you have still defaulted so will be treated the same regards of how much the deb...

Well I have just finished an IVA and can confirm you have no chance of getting a mortgage in an IVA and little chance for a long time after an IVA. Once you get to the end of the IVA you start to get the statements from your creditors and on the reverse it clearly states 'after iva completed they ho...

Hello, I have been transferred as well and all this has already been discussed in depth under the other DM main topic. Basicly unless you have defaulted {messed up your IVA payment/ gone into arrears etc} They can not change your original agreement without your consent - they can however apply for a...

I have no problem with your comments and your situation is slighty different as I am with payplan so totally different company and changes I hear.

I just want people affected to thing things through and access their options before they sign, then theres no going back is there

Well I already have the 15 percent deduction clause and you have to ask why if this payplan company is so good and ment to be run like a charity {free} and is backed by the major banks that it insists on trying to up the IP fees another 10 percent? Also there is nothing in the letter I got from them...

Umm well thats would you would think would you not and hopefully that would happen but... if you are siging the new terms then you are giving your creditors another opportunity to add extra clauses, restrictions and if there not happy that DM have collected enough of the oustanding debt from you I'm...
