Hi Indy, As the other Viki says, please do not worry as there is always someone to help you and we all know how it feels. I never had a mortgage or assets when I went BR so I'm not sure what happens but I am thinking of getting a mortgage in the next few years. BR stays on your credit report for 6 y...

Hi, My experience was daunting but good. Luckily I had someone to help me fill in the forms and tell me how much to put down for everything or it would have been a nightmare!!! I was discharged after 6 months and only had one creditor who was hassling me. All in all I was very happy and now I have l...

We are trying to wait as long as poss because we would love to have a nice big deposit which will show the lender that we can save money and pay it off. The only rush is my mums job is a bit iffy and if she loses it she will have to sell her house which she doesn't want to do and I don't either.

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knew the best time (well soonest too) when you can apply for a mortgage after you have been discharged from BR?? I completly respect people who keep it to themselves. It's great we have this forum to open up and not be judged. I didn't know about this until after I went BR though so had to talk to friends. At least three other collegues of mine have gone BR too so in our little work place we have a lot of supp...

Yes it can affect work too and I was lucky enough that my boss and collegues were fine with it, some of them are in similar situations so understood. It just really annoys me when people judge you for this and I'm glad I'm not the only one who is a bit pee'd off.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who feels like this. I feel so bad for the people I have seen write about how their supposed friends have told everyone or their family won't accept it. There are far worse things people have done in this world. I totally respect people who like to keep things to the...

Hi People, I've been reading a few comments on here and I noticed that a few people have had a lot of trouble telling their friends and/or family about their bankruptcy. Why is it in this period of time that it is so hard to to accept bankruptcy?? Everyone knows about the debt crisis and how it's so...

How are you people with cashminder accounts getting these savings accounts?? They wouldn't allow me because they had to do a credit check even though they know I have been bankrupt since oct 05. I did try online though so maybe I should have gone into the branch but thats over 60 miles away!!

Just to let you all know that my jammy partner has managed to open a proper Barclays account with Cheque Book and everything. They have even said they will review his account in 3 months and may even allow an overdraft and loans!!! Although I am happy for him it's annoyed me a bit. To me it's basica...

Your question has probably been sorted now but I had the same problem and my OR asked if I wanted to keep it seperate from my Bankruptcy and keep paying them back so I could keep it for work. I said no as I wanted a clean slate (even though I still miss that car :( ) but depending on the circumstanc...
