Thank you for replies. What confused me is when they said you wouldn't have to pay tax, didn't explain for what period, I guess I assumed that I wouldn't have to pay.

Hello, I was self-employed from July 2007 to currently & became bankrupt on 2nd April 2008. My accounts show profit for 2007-2008, so does it mean I would have to pay TAX/NI for 07/08 or not? Thank you in advance.

Just back from court, also had a meeting with OR at their offices. Basically all OK, the only thing that OR has mentioned that they will send a form that I have to sign to give them permission to look into my TAX affairs, what's that for?

Wow, thank you all! You see my main reason for going BR is because of that shortfall after our home's been repocessed & sold for less than 50% of what we've bought it for. I could have negotiated on other unsecured debts, I am certain of that, but it turns out there is no way IVA will work out consi...

I am self-employed, so I haven't paid any TAX for 2007 yet. Do you mean to say that whatever TAX is due for 2007 will now have to be payable to the OR instead?(official receiver?) Thank you.

I called local county court & they said next available day is April 10th, would anyone know whether filing a bankruptcy after April 6th will mean that income TAX for 2007 will have to be paid? Thank you.
