I'm inclined to agree. Although as you said earlier it is not always a pleasant experience.

I have a feeling that they (Co op) automatically pressed ahead with a 'normal' account. We tried going into a branch but it was only a sub branch and they didn't open accounts in there. I ended up speaking to somebody on the phone who asked me a million questions as to why I wanted a basic account -...

I think after yesterday I will be steering clear. It was awful I felt like a fraud.

Well said as usual lily - I agree only a fool would rush back. Whatever happens to us we are going to save paperwork etc and show our son exactly what happened to us..... When opening the Abbey account they said that you can only open one basic account so if we had a basic account else where then we wouldn't qualify? Why is this?
