They will extend or split but I don't feel that they should be taking this money as the mistake was certainly theirs. Yes, I could have worked the monthly forecast out by counting 48 months etc. into the plan but I think this oversight was totally acceptable as I was going by the fact that they said...

When we took out our IVA it was accepted on the condition that when a car finance agreement was finished we'd pay the remaining amount over as part of the IVA. We accepted this (not much choice really!) and have just finished paying for the car credit. Upon checking the agreements we found that the ...

Cheers for that [:)] All sounds ok, appreciate the bank account problem. I guess a current account will suffice. I already have customers lined up and suppliers are still with me from my previous business so I don't need credit etc. At least not yet ;-) Interesting they didn't care about the money t...

Thank you for the quick responses. I should have made it clearer that I will be staying in full-time employment and running the business in my spare time.
How would the IVA company look on my parents lending me money and me repaying it as and when I could from profits etc?

I used to run my own small business but closed this just before I started my IVA. There's a chance I could start it up again, parent shave offered small amount of funding I'd need to buy equipment and I have trade lined up. I would like to know if I can set up a business whilst on an IVA and if so w...

I currently have an IVA in my name. My wife is looking at returning to work (part time 20 hours a week) now our children are both at school. Am I right in thinking 50% of her wages will need paying into my IVA? Are we allowed to offset for additional spending, travel etc? Whilst we get through each ...

I was self-employed for a year before entering into an IVA. I have now been informed by my accountant that I am entitled to a decent size rebate as the company I ran filed a loss for that year. The rebate is being made against taxable wages in a different year whilst I was employed. I have been info...

Hi This has been a topic of hot debate on the forum for a long time. Any promotion and subsequent pay rise should be treated 50/50 rather than all of it going into the IVA,this will give people an incentive to better themselves and will benefit both the individual and the creditors Regards Thanks A...

Uhm, I thought the 50% was for total household income not just mine. One of my creditors chose not to vote and as it was an overdraught on a joint account they decided to chase just my wife for the full amount, she now has an arrangement with them to pay monthly, it will take 56 years at the agreed ...
