Like I said you only need to inform your HR section if you are an authorised officer for the branch/department or you have reqular dealings with public monies i.e. in HMRC or Jobcentre Plus you make payments to customers or receive payments in on behalf of the Crown. Failure to inform your HR sectio...

In the good ole days when civil servants were actually reasonably well paid (yes I am that old that I remember those days!!)if you went bankrupt you would have automatically lost your job...they used to employ people to check the published lists but now days you can go bankrupt and still retain your...

As has been said before based on the fact you entered in to your IVA 2 years ago and I assume it was for 5 years it should have slipped of your credit history by the time you leave the forces. Even if it hadn't your IVA would have been completed so the question of getting a mortgage is more based on...

If I was you I would give serious consideration to using Payplan unless you are sure they are right for you, as in hindsight I wouldn't have use them as they failed to provide me with all the correct information to make informed decisions. In fact, 12 months after entering into my IVA I questioned w...

Original IVA proposed a return of 25p in the £ and my f&f settlement figure would have produced roughly the same dividend - may be a penny or two less. I think the key is to offer at least the return they could expect over the full period but with the sweetener they get the amount quicker!!

As your parents will send the required documentation directly to the IP I do not see what the concern is as you will not have sight of anything so you will not know their financial affairs and they will not know the ins and outs of yours only the amount that is being offered for the f&f settlement.

A letter of intent does not confirm a persons identity and a cheque would not be sent until after the f&f settlement has been approved. You will note from the attached below that IPs are included in the money laundering regulations: What businesses are included in the Money Laundering Regulations 20...

Since entering in to my IVA I miss all the letters and phone calls as strange as it may seem I enjoyed the banter with my creditors. It was great fun listening to them try and force me to make payments I could not afford. The key to dealing with these sort of people is stand strong offer a minimal p...

I believe that under the money laundering laws proof of identity i.e a copy of their bank statement is required from the third party offering to make payment towards the f&f settlement.

If it is of any comfort when I proposed my f&f settlement Max Recovery voted in favour even though there was a modification preventing a f&f settlement within the first 24 months so at least they are receptive to offers!!!

I am sure an expert will come along shortly and advise you fully. When I offered a f&f settlement I offered an amount that was roughly the same dividend that creditors would receive over the course of the IVA - mine was turned down but I had a modification stating that there could be no variation wi...

Thanks Melanie for the advice. Anyone have a rough idea how much you would expect to pay for gas? I have always had oil fired central heating so have no idea of the monthly cost....also is £300 per week rent for London excessive or about right? Also council tax and water rates is something we don't ...

I don't recall seeing a full proposal outlining my future circumstances but I do remember signing something offering the full and final settlement and it said it would be 23p in £ as opposed to 25p in £ as per my original IVA. I assume the IP must have thought there was a good chance of it passing f...
