Thanks I know realistically that it is highly unlikely that I will personally gain financially from the claim, regardless of its outcome. If it goes back to clearing off the remainder of the original debt, that would be fine so long as the old loan account is not formally reopened or affects my cred...

Hi IVA successfully completed in November 2011, completion certificate received in January 2012. I ended up paying back approx 61p in the £1 to my creditors. Moved on with my life, all is good and no debt to worry about. Then received a letter last week from one of my old creditors under the IVA re ...

My thoughts exactly Melanie but I am not going to return the cheque to DFD. It is what it is. In the grand scheme of things it is not a huge windfall. Maybe with such a modest amount it is not in the creditors best interests to split and allocate these monies to accounts which are in theory now clos...

Thanks for your replies. I got my credit reports from Equifax and Experian and even though I am more than 6 years past IVA, 3 of my ex-creditors are still showing as default (muppets!). I think the next step for me is to write to the 3 creditors and ask them to update records to reflect that the acc...

I was in an IVA from Nov 2006 and finished it successfuly in Nov 2011. I heard it takes approx 6 years for IVA-related debt to drop off your credit file so now we're in Nov 2012 that is six full years from when I started IVA in Nov 2006, so in theory I should be looking clean, shouldn't I?? I have b...

Hi again! Sorry to come back on this topic but I am struggling as to what to do next in terms of re-building my credit file post-IVA. DFD has kindly provided me with a list of all my creditors and contact addresses. I was just looking to write to all of them to say IVA is now over, here is a copy of...

Thanks guys. Yeah, can't wait til summer to go to Aussie. I haven't been on holiday in 6 years, so this will hopefully make up for past loss of leisure [:D] Work were good enough to let me have extended time off too. The money I saved from IVA payments in the first couple of months debt free funded ...

Thanks Kallis, I will do that. I accessed my credit report with Equifax and there are still a few IVA-defaults showing but a couple have been updated over the last few months. I have emailed Declan at DFD for address details of the creditors so that I can write to them (I can't remember who I owed w...

Hi, I hope everyone is OK. I completed my 5 year IVA in November last year and got my completion confirmation from DFD earlier this year. I have just enjoyed the past few months of high knowing I am free from the creditors but now I have my feet back on the ground, I would like to start making steps...

Hi Sam that is bizarre. They were able to confirm over the phone with me for me to cancel. I would not have the patience to wait for a letter from them. Were they able at least to confirm when the letter will be issued to you?

Well finally got through to DFD and was given all clear to cancel standing order. I even fed back to the lady the terrible call wait/ no answer customer care line despite otherwise receiving a pretty good service from them over the years. Anyways I can breathe a sigh of relief. Need a drink lol
