Ontheroad has summed up my concerns. We have already made our final payment so really they cannot expect to make any money from our IVA. My concerns are exactly the same and would not expect CF to compile our final report and submit it without making some money from it. Does not make business sense ...

Had the letter yesterday and were somewhat surprised as we made our final payment on 23rd October. When we made the payment we were looking forward to receiving the certificate in due course, as our last communication with PJG indicated that all was in order and we shouldn't worry. Now we feel confu...

Thanks Lyns. Managed to speak to Mel on Thursday. We are able to take a 1 month break, with the possibility of a further month if required. MOT now expired and car is parked up on the drive until it is either scrapped or sold!! In the meantime, just got to rely on lifts until we can find something s...

Unfortunately, have not been able to get hold of Mel as yet. Tried a couple of times but she has not been available. Will try again today. Am looking on ebay and such like and there are cheap cars out there, but not that clued up on cars and always fearful of buying a dud! Like MrsKnight, borrowing ...

Been awake since 4.30, which seems to be the norm at the moment!!! Don't seem to be getting anywhere with this. Cannot get the money together to sort the engine out nor to replace the car, so from Friday will be without transport. Probably not that big an issue, but on top of a lot of other things, ...

Kazza - You are right, of course. This would also have been a major problem pre IVA. On the whole, the IVA has been a Godsend. Don't know where I would be right now if I hadn't found this forum 4 1/2 years ago. Reading the posts on here gave me the push I needed to act and Melanie and her staff have...

Looking like a replacement engine, which will be cheaper than replacing the whole car but still likely to be around £300 fitted (by a mate, thankfully!) Plus the few other bits it needs, could be looking at around £400. Current MOT actually runs out on May 2nd so need to get it done within a week!! ...

Just about at breaking point!! Car has failed MOT miserably on emissions and it looks as though the engine may be on it's last legs. Had it 2 years and had to take a payment break to buy it after my wife crashed our previous car and wrote it off. 4 1/2 years into a 6 year IVA and it's proving to be ...

She realises that she will need to get a part time job, irrespective of whether we are able to help out or not. Reading has a good student services department which helps students find work.
