Wish I could help, but I'm sure Melanie could advise. Just make sure he doesn't play games - you're trying to get yourself straight for you and your kids, so the best advice I can give is don't do/sign anything until you've spoken to someone who really does know where you stand.

I'm certainly no expert and all I can advise is talking to Melanie - she really will give you the best advice and then make the decision that you are comfortable with.

Good luck!

Hi Ben Talk about caught between the devil and the deep blue see. Ultimately, you have to go with the decision that feels right for you. But from my own experience (two members of my family have gone down the BR route), bankruptcy is not as awful as you would think - I'm not saying it's easy but you...

I think Sefton's in Yorkshire, but hey, it can't possibly be any different anywhere else in the country!

I'm so pleased for you :-) that's one less thing to worry about!

lol - the people that usually manage to get away with that are those that have plenty of money! Oh the irony! Meanwhile the rest of us just have to fight the good fight and do the best we can for our kids.

You're luck's in :-)

Check out this link (I'm assuming that Sefton is no different to the rest of the country!) and scroll down to the Tax Credit section where it categorically states "Working Tax Credit is an income-based benefit"

hmm, good question. It might be worth calling the tax credits helpline and asking them - I usually found them pretty helpful. It's also worth seeing if they have a 'Sofa Project' locally - basically a sort of furniture charity that collect unwanted (but decent) furniture when people move or get new,...
