Thanks, Jan. I'll post at greater length when we have our completion certificate and all is done and dusted, although, in all honesty ours has been a fairly uneventful journey and the story won't hit the best-seller's list!

I too was unsure whether our last payment was October or November, but this was resolved by my IP (Jones Giles)and, guess what, it's October, which means that our last payment has gone out of our account TODAY!! I still find it hard to take in that we are completed and I won't be cancelling the stan...

I'm very surprised if an IP will agree to deferring drawing state pension until an IVA is completed. The pension is additional income which, when drawn monthly, adds to the payments creditors receive.

An update on the Nationwide cash card+. I received mine in today's post (valid until 2014!!). It is a debit card in all but name and can be used in shops or telephone/internet purchases. It is issued to all account holders i.e. including those of us who only have the basic flexi account (cuurent acc...

Not from the information you have given, Cath. You need to know what the terms of the loyalty bonus are as stated in your loan agreement, but you may find that it is discretional.

I'm sure you won't have a problem with the Co-op. There are no credit checks (as far as I know) on basic accounts, but all new accounts are checked for things such as money laundering, terrorist suspects etc and so are not issued immediately. If you are not already in your IVA, you can open a Nation...

Yes, Jan - just the basic flexaccount, but the the new cash card+ will replace ALL cash cards, if I read it correctly. It does say that it will also replace cheque books. Maybe we are going to benefit from the massive profits the bank will get by stopping issuing cheque books?

We opened a Nationwide account shortly before entering our IVA. Whilst we are not dissatisfied with Nationwide the lack of a debit card is a nuisance and, after all the recommendations on this site, wished we'd gone for the Co-op. However, today we had a letter from Nationwide saying they were repla...

Just a quick query. I am likely to get a tax refund at the end of the tax year as the Inland Revenue have had me on the wrong tax code for nearly 10 years! In 2001 I worked for a company who provided health insurance - a taxable benefit. They never changed my coding back when I moved jobs. I only no...

Congratulations, Simbel, on getting your IVA approved. You don't have to send anything to creditors - your IP will do that. There is no harm in advising any callers who your IP is and any reference number of your agreement and suggesting they contact them. Having said that, you may well still get cal...
