Hi, I have been in an IVA for just over 3 years and have always kept to my payments but I am now in a position to be able to offer a full and final settlement as my parents can loan me the money. I am confused about how much to offer though. My original agreement states I must pay £0.45 in the £1 an...

Hi all, I'm 1 year into my IVA and am due for my annual review with my IP in less than a month. Since my IVA was accepted my after tax income has gone up by approx £400 a month (and my IP told me to wait for my annual review before my payments change). I am expecting at this review that my £350 IVA ...

Hi Melanie, I've been through my proposal and I found the clause...it says "in the event of all creditors claims being paid in full then interest shall be paid at the prevailing statutory rate". I'm not worrying so much now though - just have to sit out the next 4 or so years. Thanks for your help e...

Hi Melanie, thanks for your replies, to this and to previous queries. I think we all appreciate the time you put into this forum. I have been through the Chairman's report and it does not have a clause for statutory interest however I'm pretty sure this was in the proposal. Does the Chairman's repor...

Hi Uni, I totally agree with you regarding getting into debt and wishing to pay off the full 100%. I said this to my IP from the outset. I don't even mind paying the interest as I would have had to pay this outside of the IVA anyway however what I do mind paying is the £8800 for the priveledge! I al...

Hi Uni, I find myself in the same position as you with original debt of £28,000 and £8880 IP fees. I expect with my annual wage increases that I will be paying back this total plus statutory interest. I don't know how to calculate this though but if it is as high as you say I find this fairly unbeli...

Hi, I was never given an option as to a DMP though this is not necessarily the fault of the IP as I was referred to them through Thomas Charles & although very nice they never discussed any other option with me. The additional funds did not arise through re-budgeting but through an expected pay-rise...

Hi, thanks for your help with this. I will speak to them to clarify how much I am paying. They haven't increased their costs this is the original proposal. If I could get a reduction in term of the IVA then surely they would ask for 100% debt repayment - the total debt is 28,000. This would mean wit...

Hi, I was badly advised to enter into an IVA when a debt management agreement would have been a far better choice, however, at the time I was not aware that this was an option; it was either IVA or bankruptcy. The reason that I believe a DMA would have been the best option is that I had never missed...

I have been in an IVA since August 2006 but I obtained my credit file recently and some of the credit card companies have logged late payments against me even though these would have been after the date of the IVA as I hadn't missed any payments before this date. Is there anyway I can get these remo...
