I was in an IVA for two years - retired and my only income was my State Pension and disability payment. A chance discussion with someone who told me I was silly. BR receiver does not take in to account benefits and state pension. Stopped paying IVA, money saved put aside to pay (cash) for bankruptcy...

The medical research I have enrolled in may at some future date help others. There is nothing I can do...

Dear Jan, Thank you very much for your support and words of wisdom. As you say doing it yourself cost £150 for each element and I will sweet talk to my GP for a pro bono signature. Since being diagnosed I have joined a couple of networks and I am taking part in a research project into dementia. At t...

Thank you I did try to have a word with my case worker. Unfortunately she did not have a clue about LPA's or The Mental Health Act or The Office of The Public Guardian. I suppose my question is will my IP have to comply with the above bodies once my LPA is registered and will this have any effect on...

Can I add that this happened to me. My wife was accepted and I was rejected. I immediately applied to another IVA company and was accepted. However in hindsight I should have gone bankrupt and would now be discharged instead of having to pay for another 4 years (6 years in total) dependant on the va...

David, I am slightly concerned regarding your remarks "what's the problem" Only today I read that expenses claims from MPs is up for sale for £200,000! I guess the staff working for IP's are not 100% vetted and have CRB Checks??? they are probably not that well paid and in the majority have no forma...

As I said earlier there is some flavour of disagreement between IP's. It is not as though there is anything to hide on the bank statements it is simply my wife feels that it is an invasion of her privacy, I actually agree with her. However the bank statements and her payslips are winging there way t...

Thank you all, I did not have an agreement with my IP about a reduction. However they were aware and simply said when I queried this that they would deal with this when it happened. As I am sure you will understand, hindsight is wonderful and looking back there were probably many more questions I sh...
