Thats what I was thinking. Its just a pain that I've been writing to Barclays since May to try and get this sorted, each time giving them 28 days, and it hasn't made one bit of difference. I guess my credit report won't actually get updated until some time in October either, just keeps dragging the ...

Hi all, I began an IVA in March 2006 through DFD, which I then settled in July 2008. Its is only recently that I thought to check my credit report as I was still having problems getting credit, and found that I still had a default recorded by one of my creditors. Following advice on this forum, I se...

I completed my IVA in March this year, although actually made my full and final settlement payment in July 2008. I am now applying for a new job and part of this involves a credit check. I have looked on Experian, and several of the debts covered by my IVA are showing as defaulted with balances outs...

Hi all, I've posted here before and had very helpful advice with regard to making a F&F offer to Debt Free Direct. I went through the process from about March time, and made a full and final settlement at the beginning of July this year (believe it was about the 7th). However, to this date I have st...

Well, I wrote to DFD with an offer of £25k on the 6th of March. Rang them last week, and was told that they had received my offer, but it could take up to 2 weeks for it to be assessed and decided whether it would be put to my creditors. I've now received a letter today, dated 18 March, explaining t...

Hmm, maybe I'll pluck up the courage. I've been thinking of sticking to £25k anyway, becuase they're going to get at least one or 2 more monthly contributions from me yet which will bring the total down by about £1200! Just a pain that its all go to be by letter, rather than me just phoning them and...

And I've just spoken to them again to see if they would suggest a figure for settlement. Another completely different person, who had to check with her team leader, but still came back to say that I had to 'make a reasonable offer that would be put forward to creditors' but they couldn't give me a f...

I've just received the letter from DFD with the 100p dividend that they said they had to send me, and got quite a shock! At no time until now have they told me there would be a £500 Meeting Arrangement Fee or a £1800 Early Settlement Fee. Oh, and plus VAT. So that now adds just under £2500 to the am...

Thanks for your replies It is really quite worrying that the staff you end up speaking to can be so misleading sometimes. I fully appreciate that they're not all like this, but when we are talking about matters as serious as our financial affairs, it would be nice to know we are talking to people wh...

And to make me doubt the level of help offered by my IVA, I've just called back and they said I could request a settlement figure by email!! Although she then couldn't find the email address for a while! They certainly don't instill confidence!

I've just contacted my IVA to enquire about a F&F. My total debts were £61,878.86, and my creditors agreed to a 51p dividend, making the total debt repayable to creditors £31,559. My contributions totalled £39468, made up of 66 payments of £598. At my first annual review last March, it confirmed the...

I know others have asked similar before, but I wanted an opinion on my personal circumstances. I started an IVa in MArch last year. Total was £39500ish, after supervisors fees and VAT (?) the total repayable to creditors was £31242 which I'm paying at £598 a month with a dividend of 48p in the £. I ...
