I have had the same letter recently. Having contacted Halifax it would seem that they are approaching customers on an 'interest only' mortgage with a view to confirming/establishing how they will repay the mortgage at the end of the term, if this cant be done then they will be looking to get them to...

My original post probably does my point injustice. Obviously my actual payments are a lot higher. Essentially when the proposals were done my pay was made up significantly of allowances. I was on notice to lose these at the time but was told if they go then my payments would reduce accordingly. Abou...

I am a little bit miffed now having received a letter today. Right up until two weeks ago I was expecting my IVA to end shortly after christmas (march). It was extended to cover some missed payments (which I expected). I queried why the missed payments that were added on to the end came to slightly ...

I need some advice on the following with my IVA : I have just made up the figures to keep it simple. The company make my proposals for an iva (it is obviously based on my financial circumstances at the time). It is protocol compliant, contains the overtime clause, it is based on annual review etc et...

Lem, Now that you are armed with the FSA information I hope you have some luck at the bank - unfortunately as you say if the bank just simply 'refuse' there is not much you can do about it at the time. Usually this is because the staff at the bank are either unaware of the regulatory requirements th...

Lem, This is complete rubbish and you have been fobbed off 100%. Go to the Financial Services Authority website (who now regulate the banks) - enter in search (Bank accounts - know your rights) - I think this actually is on the front page so you may not have to search it. Print off the unauthorised ...

That is an excellent result.Perhaps with the Office of Fair Trading breathing down their necks this week, now is not the time for them to start appearing as though they are unreasonable or acting unfairly. You are right though, there is no reason however why it should take ten days to recredit back t...

Just to be clear I agree entirely that this has been very unscrupulous and questionable behaviour by the lender. The OFT has announced this week an investigation in to this very sort of behaviour. I do not think and it is not my experience that the bank will want to bear this loss or the lender refu...

I only mention the offset because the terms of my own IVA say where any creditor in the IVA makes a refund for whatever reason then that refund will be used solely to reduce their 'own' debt. I am not an expert on IVA's but I just guessed this is probably a standard term hence the reason I said an E...

Hi ZMRST, Bank card useage and fraud is an area of my expertise and I would suggest you are very careful here what you do. In sum I am sorry to say that Merlin is probably right- you have either lost this money or it can take anything up to 10 months to get it back: If you have taken out a payday lo...
